Hi everyone , long time lurker , first time poster. :)

My family and I are all going for the 1st time ever to DL in mid. November.
Could you have a look at our plans and tell me what you think ?

We go to DL on Tuesday 18th and Wednesday 19th which should be fairly crowd free.
We go to universal studios on the Thursday 20th and then back to DL for Friday 21st ,Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd.

Do you think we should instead go to DL or DCA on the Thursday ( which should be light on crowds ) and go to universal on Saturday ?
I'm worried that the crowds will be mad due to the xmas decorations being up on Saturday.

Any thoughts would be great , we can't wait !

Universal gets pretty heavy with locals on Saturday. I would stick with DL. (We live 2-3 miles from Universal, so we can see a difference when we go by there on errands.) Universal especially gets heavy on Citiwalk on the weekends, too, as it has a lot of local "hangout" crowds.

I would definitely stick with Universal on a weekday. You may actually see some real backlot movie/TV stuff, if you do that, too, since they won't have started their holiday break for television shows and general filming. You could also see if they have free studio audience show taping tickets available.

Depends on the ages (if you have young ones that can be scared by the Earthquake stop on the Tram - then you are right).

Anyone can take the tram tour at Universal and they drive by all of those sets. That means that you can see random things - like filming. Your chances of passing by active sets are better than on the weekend.

(My best friend used to be a celebrity's personal asistant, with her production office in the bungalows at Universal - right next to Sean Cassidy's. We rode around that place in her golf cart all the time during our quest for lunch. We passed the tour tram numerous times!)
