Liki Tiki Village Condo

Yep hate it. It was disgusting check the search function and you find lots of reviews like mine.

Also, check Tripadvisor.com. For some reason the reviews are great over there!

We were just there in February for a week. We stayed with Dh's cousins in one of the townhouse style units. It was clean, in great condition, and fully supplied. Do a search under my name for it, I posted a great review about it when I returned. The activities were great, they had stuff for all ages planned everyday. We own DVC, so I think my standards are pretty high, and I truly enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to do stay there again. Please ask if you have any more questions!

jacksmom99: I thought I read somewhere there was a weekly luau dinner for a charge. Can't find my info now & I may be wrong. I've read a lot on here! :earboy2: Do you know anything about it?

Please, can you give us an idea of the kids activities or any schedule. I'm trying to plan out our WDW Days on & off & PS possibilities. This will make a difference in what kind of WDW tix we buy. So much to decide! We're staying at Orbit One in early December, but have priveleges to go to Liki Tiki, I believe.

Thank you.

I know there was an all you can eat fish fry one night. I don't remember the cost, but it was minimal. I remember a karyoke night and a beach party. For the kids they had at least 1-2 things planned each day. I can see the schedule in my head, but I can't remember everything on it. Tiedying shirts, arts and crafts are among the things I remember. They have a really cute water slide area that my DS and his cousins loved. It's not a water park, but it was great fun for 3 boys ages 5,6,&7. I'm sorry I can't be more specific with the details, but the schedule was full of things to do everyday.

What kind of park tickets are you considering? After 6 days, I don't think the cost per day is all that much. I'd buy the most that you could need, especially if the difference is only a few $ per ticket.

Do you have this link to the Liki Tiki site? http://www.islandone.com/ior/likitikivillage.html

We went to the Liki Tiki last month. It was wonderful. There was a mess up with our reservation. We were supposed to be in a high rise but ended up in a townhouse. Tough for us because the second bedroom had two twin beds instead of 2 full size beds and no tv. So DH, DS2 and DS4 and I had to push the beds together and make some creative arrangements. The staff was wonderful with the mix up. They offered to switch us to the high rise, but my dad had already fallen in love with the layout of the townhouse. Then they brought us a crib, which turned out to be a porta crib, too small, so they brought us a rollaway. The house was very clean, well stocked, and nicely decorated. We had a balcony that could be accessed by both bedrooms and a nice screened in porch in the front. They have several pools, a playground, miniature gold, paddle boats, water park, kids activities, tiki bar, karaoke, donuts, bagels, and juice each morning. We actually had to pry the kids away from the mini golf and pools to go to Disney. We spent 4 days at the parks and could have easily spent 1 day at the park and the rest at the resort, if it had been up to them. Each morning they called with a list of the days activities. The only problem with encountered was when we tried to go to the hot tub at night, there were lots of mosquito type bugs, we ended up buying a bug candle to take with us and then didn't get a chance to get back. The drive to Disney was very short, no traffic in May, there may be at other times though. I would be happy to answer any other questions you might have.

A couple of people have posted about the day's activities. Can you give me some specifics as to what they are?

Also--paddleboats. Is there a lake around?

Did they have bike rentals there? We love those tandem bikes where four people can ride and peddle.

thanks a ton!

Yes, there is a lake, you can pay a daily fee to access everything, paddleboats, crafts, tie dye, mini golf, or pay per activity. We went one evening to play golf and no one else was there so they told us to go ahead and play for free. They do have those bikes. I thought they looked cute, but after 14 hours at the Magic Kingdom, the last thing we wanted to do was peddle a bike. Like I said, we didn't do any of the activities because we went to the parks every day but one. I scheduled Chef Mickey's the first night we were there, because I thought my DS would want to see characters right away, but he ended up having a melt down because he wanted to stay and swim and play mini golf. I think next time I would spend more time at the resort, but this was our first time so we wanted to get in as much as we could. I really can't say enough good things about the resort. There may be some units that haven't been remodeled yet that folks have had bad experiences with, but I would definately go back. The only downside is, it is a timeshare so you see folks driving around on golf carts touring the place everywhere, but that didn't bother us. Hope that helps.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

We just got back from our first time, did the same thing, got the 6 day pass and went to every park and/or water park every day to see what we liked and to experience everything. Now we know that 6 days of parks in a row is too much for us. We decided we would rather stay at a condo with full kitchen facilities (cause there's only so much fast food one family can ingest) and we would love to have "down" days where we just hang around and rest. After all, it is a vacation!

I think you just made next year's trip to Disney more magical for us!

Thanks again!

I'm checking into the Liki Tiki in FOUR DAYS!!!

I've read some bad reviews and some good ones. I chose this place because a friend bought a timeshare there and gave them our name and phone number. Anyway, it was going to be $169 for three nights. Total. That's for a one bedroom. Also, that was if my husband and I would go through their presentation -- which would further entitle us to two free adult tickets to a park of our choice, AND two days in Daytona Beach whenever we wanted. Sounds great -- but DH doesn't WANT to go to Florida. So I'm taking a friend with me instead, but now I don't get all the free stuff AND I owe them another $150. Still, it's reasonably cheap. Hope this place is great. We've scheduled one day there at the Liki Tiki, and one day at MK, and one day at MGM.

My son even asked if we could go back! I would request a one floor unit, then you would have the newer units. We had to request a one floor unit because my son had started sleepwalking and we were afraid of him going down the stairs. It was soooooooo roomy, bathrooms were nice, kitchens were great and the pool area was fantastic!!! I would definately go back again, but only in the newer units.

Judging from the postings I have seen hopefully they have cleaned up their act from when I went two years ago.

We just spent a full week in one of the two story townhomes and we were all pleasantly surprised. It was very clean and comfortable with tons of storage space and comfortable beds. The staff called each day and left a message detailing all activities and we basically really enjoyed it. I would stay there again in a heartbeat.

i've heard different stories is there an additional price?
and should i ask for a townhome are they newer?

I'm thinking, and I could be wrong, that some of the resort has been remodeled and some has not, which could be the reason for the very different opinions. I think the condos are newer than the townhouses. We were supposed to be in a condo but ended up getting a townhouse when we checked in. It was freshly painted and very nice. My dad fell in love with the screened in porch. The big difference between the condos and the townhouses is in the 2 bedrooms, the second bedroom has twins instead of fulls and no tv. Which was an issue for us since me, DH, DS2 and DS4 were all sharing that room, but the staff bent over backwards to help out. I would definately go back and may even consider buying. Next year we are going with a group of 12 so we are looking at renting a house, but I'm sure I'll miss all the excitement of the Liki Tiki.
