Our family are going for the second time to Orlando...

It is a long trip - since we dont have direct airplanes from Denmark to Orlando..

Therefore we are planing a 3 weeks stay.. (Last year we went 2 weeks)..

We stayed last year at HIFS and loved it !!! (and also at Hard Rock Hotel for 4 days)..and loved that as well..

This year we will stay 5 nights at a Universal Hotel (not Hard Rock again) because we are that kind of people that love to experince new things and would not enjoy the same resort as much when we know everything...

We have therefore a little problem... We need to stay at a resort in the rest of the periode beyon Universal that provides us:

a) A great pool since our kids love slides and pools which are not that deep..(You have to be able to walk some places..)..

b) Minimum a 1 bedroom suite but most likely simlary like HIFS the 2 bedroom( Kidssuites...)

c) The same price (not higher) than HIFS...

The 3 above things looks like that Liki Tiki Village can live up to.. but when I look at the homepage - and look at this forum it seems that almost nobody have written about this Place...

Please give us some advice..

Have you been at this resort ?
How was it ?
Anything to worry about ?
Compairing to HIFS - what do you think ?
and last ... perhaps any other suggetions to a resort that can live up to our demands (like HIFS) ??

We never stayed there even though it looked nice, but we visited family there for the day. I walked in with a cold pop in my hand and was advised I was not allowed to bring my own drinks to the pool area ( I guess you have to buy them from the Tiki bar ) this was a little shocking to me as I have never been told this before anywhere else.

Has anyone else encoutered this at this resort?

If you are able to go back to July/August timeframe you would be able to find some info. We were there for four nights and that was four nights too many. My husband hated it, the rooms were older, smelled musty, etc. The water park is no more than a few small pools with small slides, water fountains. If you are able to get into the two new buildings you may be okay but I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone. As my husband told the sales rep, "i walked into your lobby and it was the most disgusting thing I have seen". My husband is spoiled by Disney vacation club but it is VERY dark, cluttered and the workers would rather socialize with each other, cute delivery boys, than wait on you.
We had problems with the refrig and they were good about coming to fix it, but we could also hear the people very clearly in the next room. We were in a two bedroom. I would keep looking and what about a home or check out hotelkingdom.com for cypress pointe grand villas.
good luck, hope this helped.
