Likelyhood of changing one room to two at check in

We arrive in 9 days, rented points - since our two pending contracts haven't loaded to our dashboard - staying in a one bedroom at BWV. Is there even a slight possibility of being able to request two studios when I check in? I imagine no since the points are different and such, but just wondering if anyone has done this.

You cannot make a change to a rented booking without the owner being charged.

Why would you even ask? Want a second room for free? Or are you over the occupancy limit?

No I don't want a second room for free, more than willing to pay any difference it may impose. I thought it more comfortable for the two other adults with us to have their own room, but didn't think of that until now.

Zero chance.

If there is currently availability for studios you could ask the owner to modify your booking (assuming it the same or lesser points, or assuming they have additional points to rent and you are willing to pay for them).

Under normal circumstances, these resorts are at 95% occupancy, so zero chance. Studios will still be 95% capacity, as they are some of the cheapest pointwise in the system.

Right now, things are weird and upgrades have shown up, but I would expect that for cash guests over DVC, honestly.

As mentioned, the owner would be charged the points for any changes, even if the front desk allows it.

I would contact your owner though because maybe they have extra points if needed or are willing to change it for you!

Make sure you read your rental contract before you go through with the deal. And afterwards, too, so you don't do something you don't really want to do.
