Likelihood of Waitlists coming through for early December?

As is our usual custom, my DW has decided to try and make changes to our December trip to see WDW during the holiday season. Here is our situation:

We have a studio @ VWL for 12/1/11 thru 12/4/11 (three nights).

DW decides to fly in 11/30/11 and go for an extra night @ VWL. Well of course there is no availability so we have waitlisted.

Then she decides that airfare is cheaper 12/5/11 and so now we need something for night of 12/4/11. Again, nothing available @ VWL, but there is a standard view studio @ BLT so I grab it.

Now she wants to try and change the night of 12/3/11 from VWL to BLT, so I have us waitlisted a 2nd time for this change.

What are your thoughts on the chances the waitlists come through?

I have been on a waitlist for BW for the second weekend of Dec for 4 months now and I don't expect it to come through. If you just got on a waitlist for VWL I think your chances are pretty low but you never know.

That is sort of my thinking as well. Luckily we do have the four nights. It would just be nice to get that first night so we could use Magical Express.

You can always stay at a Value or Moderate before hand. Not the end of the world.

We were waitlisted for Thanksgiving night from about mid June until last week.
I think there's still a good chance you could get a room but you might want to try SSR or AKL since they have more rooms

Last year I was trying to put together a week for my brothers and our families at AKV the first week of December. I ended up having to WL for single nights to put the whole thing together. All of our single night WLs came through.

At 7 days out there are no wait lists so you could keep calling every day at that point and hope to get lucky. I would even ask at check-in about the 12/3 night. Good luck!

We had booked BLT at 11 months for Nov 29 to Dec 8. At seven months we tried to move Dec 3 to 8 to BCV or BW. Nothing was available, so we waitlisted the last 3 nights at either. About a month ago, we got the 3 nights at BCV and we waitlisted Dec 4 at BCV. So far nothing on that waitlist. If that does come thru, we'll then waitlist Dec 3, but at least we got the 3 nights.

We booked at OKW in Feb for our Dec trip (same time you'll be there) and we've been waitlisted at BW since the first possible day. Still nothing. Good luck!

The waitlistlist for VWL on 11/30 came through late yesterday! Big reelief! Called and scheduled ME this morning so we are all set.

If BLT comes through for 12/3 that will be icing on the cake, if not we will have cake without icing, but cake none the less. I will keep the suggestion for calling the last seven days and asking at checkin about the night of 12/3 in mind.

My waitlist for BLT just came through last night for 12/1 - we decided to add an extra day to our vacation and we're staying at BLT and didn't want to change resorts so we're very happy that it came through last night

Our waitlist for AKL 1 bed C in Nov came thru 2 days ago
I really did not expect to actually have it come thru but decided to waitlist just for the heck of it
I was pleasantly surprized

For how many days? The shorter the stay the more likelihood of it happening. That's what seems to be the case.

A week. I know - not likely. But I have had it happen before, so I am holding out hope. If not, oh well. We will still be at SSR AND WDW so I cannot complain about that!
