Likelihood of getting waitlist for studio Oct 1-3 (big 50th)?

Wait listed OKW and SSR on my one membership and AKV and RR on my other.

Do you "need" to stay at the same resort? If you stalk, you may find something. There was a BWV pool view for the night of the 3rd this morning. I've picked up a dropped AKV a couple of times over the last few weeks for the night of the 1st (decided we wanted a 1 bed at BRV instead). I did get Poly for the night of the 30th a few weeks ago, which really started the stalking and wait listing. I have BWV for the 2nd and 3rd, but one is standard and the other is pool, so I've got the other waitlisted just so we don't have to change rooms. Of course, both will come through while I'm asleep and we will be in the same situation. Good luck!

I've been on waitlist for a long time for poly night of 30th and 1st. I've already got a cash reservation there for those nights, but obviously would rather use points. I wonder what would be more likely to get dropped- lake view or standard?

Always the higher point rooms. Folks want cheaper ones. So if some other option comes up that is less points they will drop the higher lake view. Just a weak guess.

Though SSR has most rooms so that is most likely to pop up. I did a search of availability for Sept Oct Nov....when you pull down calendar it shows 3 months. And looked at the ones that had most number of days available in the 3 months. SSR, OKW, AKV and then did one Epcot area resort and went with RR because we have not stayed there yet (and wondering if they are still declaring rooms there where more inventory might be loaded in).

It can happen. I dropped an OKW NH studio for the 30th and the 1st yesterday.

Friends couldn't give me a firm answer if they were joining or not and I finally decided I wanted to do something else with the points. I'm sure other people will firm up plans too as we get closer. There will just be less movement than normal for those dates

Higher demand nights probably won't get dropped until closer to 31 days out. That said, my guess is a lot of people booked at 11 months "just in case", so many wait lists will be fulfilled eventually.

I think there are 5x as many Poly standard studios vs lake view, so I would guess the larger quantity would usually have more natural cancellation movement.

Example: for Sep 30 and Oct 1, all BLT rooms, (every size, every view) initially filled exactly 11-months out.

Thus, getting anything for that time period, even for SSR or OKW, may be difficult and will depend on length of the waitlists (probably long) and whether you can find anything by regularly stalking the reservation site.

Yeah, that's what I was afraid of. Been stalking and did see the 2nd available in a 1BR at VGF. Shoulda grabbed that. But A) we don't need a 1BR, B) we'd rather not book a point eater and C) I don't want to switch resorts/rooms and be homeless for several hours on the 2nd. I will keep stalking but not holding my breath. Really hoping they do a RR declaration of inventory soon.

Currently a 2BR at SSR for Oct 1 and 2. Boo. Just don't have the points for that. Using 2 memberships and one has 30 points to use. The other membership has plenty but I have 7 of those 30 in the first membership borrowed so they need to be used.

I still think a lot of people grabbed these at the 11 month mark just so they could decide later. Now there probably are a lot of pending wait lists, too, but I wouldn't give up hope. Not this early, that's for sure.
