You could be right, but do you think Disney is really willing to roll the dice by offering LESS to people who stay at Value Resorts?:confused3 There are a LOT of people(including my family)who stay on-property BECAUSE of the "Free-Dining" incentive-and that incentive has been filling rooms,Value and otherwise. So,how many rooms will they fill without that incentive? We'll gladly go back off-site to a larger room, free breakfast daily, evening cocktails during weekdays, and the ability to cook our own meals like we had before!! Our trips were MUCH cheaper, and just as enjoyable as being on-site,save the great meals at the Disney Restaurants we have become accustomed to!!:sad2: I'm quite sure that the local hotels are PRAYING that Disney doesn't offer that great incentive we all know as"Free-Dining"-That will bode well for them,as I am also quite sure that many who have counted on FD in the past will decide to go back off property as well, especially since the economy is still in recovery mode!!!:scared1: FD also tends to keep people"captive",along with their money, firmly on Disney Property-right where they want us!!!;)

The free dining PIN codes they have already offered are for counter service at the Values. I can't see them turning around and offering the basic DDP to the general public. It wouldn't make sense. People who used the free dining PINs would just cancel and rebook with the general public offer. That would mean alot of extra paperwork and refunding on Disney's part (alot of those people paid the difference to upgrade from the counter service plan to the basic or deluxe plan) If they planned to offer the basic DDP for all levels then why send out the PINs for counter service at the Values?

I agree- up to a point. I think the big difference will be the dates. The qsdp dates end the 14th. If there is fd offered on the 15th, I don't see very many people rebooking just to get free dining. Maybe the people on the cusp, but not people who planned to be there in july or earlier.

I agree too. In years past there haven't been any discounts available to the general public for the summer (at least I know there wasn't one in 07 when I was desperately searching for one!) but there have been discounts for the fall (starting in mid Aug.) for quite a few years now, so the up to Aug. 15th pin might not have anything to do with whether or not they offer fall free dining. A lot of people who go in July/early Aug. can't go in late Aug./Sept. because of school or other issues. I still think they will offer FD for the next time period for all levels.
If they do offer QSDP, I think it will be for values only. Just my opinion.

Free Counter service at the values makes perfect sense as there aren't any table service restaurants at the values. From a corporate standpoint, it makes perfect sense

I will be happy with either, but my BIL is actually hoping for the QSDP.
I asked him why since if it's offered it will be free anyway. He said because with the TS meals he is going to have to tip.
I have never met such a cheap man in my life.
I will be happy either way, but hoping for DDP just to tick him off:rotfl:

hink they will offer it. If their reason is to fill rooms during hurricaine season I just read that it may be a high named storm year. I already have a trip booked so I hated hearing that but I assume they look into those forecasts and will want to put something out there that makes people look past the prediction (by the way the article said the early prediction they release is not always accurate so I won't panic yet it was some Colorado University thing they release every year)
