You're very good! Can't wait to ride Star Tours-- ummm, you will ride it with me, right?? And see the little Ewok houses at night. And take crazy pictures on the racer?

That will be great! I have never been on Star Tours. But will it be down for Rehab already? I know they are doing a new one?

Time to make the POP reservation. I think that part of the plan is sewed up!

But, before I make that call, maroo kindly reminded me of a few important details that needed to be considered. First off, my plan was to go room only for now, and wait for any discounts or FD. That seemed easy enough, and I still will wait for a PIN in my name or open to the public, but I can't do the FD with this portion of my trip. It just isn't worth it to have to be stuck with the 1 day ticket that they pin on you, as I'll already have a 10 day from the first part of the trip. For CS only I can eat for 3 days on WAYYYYYYYYYY less than that! Honestly, I've not even checked this out, but they may require you to be there for 4 nights to qualify for FD anyway. But I don't know about that- just a hunch.

So, I'll stick with a room only and pay OOP for cheap eats, and hit the CS places I'd not gotten to yet, and maybe splurge on one super nice meal along the way. To be revealed later... ;) This POP Adventure will be from Monday- Wednesday, checking out on Thursday, flying into Bangkok to meet up with my family.

So, will this end up being totally solo?? Partially solo?? Only time will tell on this one. :confused3

Meantime, I dreamt all night long of my stay at the Poly!! Wishes on the beach, breakfast at Kona, coffee on my balcony, ahhh....

Woo Hoo!!!

POP?! not what I would have gone with, but ok. gosh! hope you guys get your ADRs! good luck!

Girl! POP is only the BEST value resort on property! You definitely don't want All Stars...so it has to be POP! :) Unless she has a really nice and well off daughter that wants to foot her bill to stay in a Mod those three night. :confused3 :rotfl2:

Wait a minute - the Poly and hot tub - is a NON Issue... imho

well it was a non issue when we were able to :wizard: stay at the Polynesian our first visit... :rolleyes1

at an area of the pool - set forward from where the slide drops you off is an area that is so hot tub like - it has jets, and seats - and the pool was heated back then... (well it was July I think, but it wasnt 100 deg outside that summer!!)

Really, if you arent going in Jan or Feb - the Florida weather is so HOT HOT HOT and HUMID - do you really sit in a hot tub?

Leisa Pop will be great - I would spring for the 50 section tho - closer to the Food Court, and the quiet pool (when we paid for the section, they had us in the 60's by the pool, I begged for 50's - and viola!!) but that's just me!!

Also - you are right about the Dining Plan - So many CS options - Pop has some great options as well!!

I think you only need a 1 day ticket assuming they even offer FD but the FD for the value's is the QS plan, not the DDP I believe I read somewhere....

Still, you'll have the ticket already and you are right, better than the one day ticket price I think. Not sure. Would have to do the math but trust you on that one.

I like the idea of mixing in a TS though.... for me I burn out on CS type foods as well as the atmosphere, I like to sit down and really relax even if all I order is an app and a salad and a glass of wine! Which would be a typical solo dinner for me. Ahh...it has been a LONG time since I dined solo. There are some aspects of business travel I miss occasionally.

Ah the Poly. So happy for you guys!

I got a PIN yesterday but sadly, not one I can use. Two PINS so far, can't use either one.

:sad1:

I like your dream.....except for the coffee, which tastes like kaka to me...

:lmao: HA! Aren't we full of funny tonight?!! :rotfl2: That's a word my Grandmother adored!!

That will be great! I have never been on Star Tours. But will it be down for Rehab already? I know they are doing a new one?

I don't know, haven't been checking the rehab info. lately... Hope not, I love that ride!!

LOL!! Now that's pretty funny too!! Not likely...

I agree, likely we won't want a hot tub in early Sept.

Yes, I was reading in my UG last night that the 50's is quieter and by the main bldg. Think that's what I'll request. East facing/ bldg. 3 they say is best. HOnestly, I won't be there much, as I"ll be doing 2 park days and spending one resort hopping. But do you have to pay extra for that?? Do want some Tie Dye Cheesecake. :yay:

Well, I wish I could help you out with POP but you know I haven't been..

Oooh that sounds like a nice dream! :cloud9: I cannot wait to try the Tonga Toast at Kona!

So...would she have to pay for an upgraded room to get the 50's section? :confused3 Is that what you asked?

yes, preferred sections are $10 extra - but I believe there are parts of 50's that are not preferred - I'll have to go dig.... :rolleyes1

Honestly - I want to go next fall - but I want to be there for Food and Wine fest!! :dance3:

http://willcad.org/disney_maps.shtml#values

If you look at the map some of those 80's rooms are really close to the bus stop too -

honestly tho - I wouldnt want to be in the way back like we were the one time I didnt pay for the preferred - dh even said the $10 a night was worth it! (but again, we did want to stay Lady or Tramp rooms!)

ok, over All Stars, then yea, POP is good. and hey! I'm not THAT nice!! And my job only gives minimum wages!! :lmao:

Yeah, the ticket just makes it very much NOT worth it! I know I can eat for less than $75 in 3 days. That's WITH a TS meal thrown in. So, no FD for me.

That's exactly what I'd be ordering too! Appie, salad and wine. Mmmm!

I kinda like travelling solo too, but the thought of doing at Disney--- hmmmm.... so many possibilities!

Aw, too bad! You need a PIN you can USE!! Keep booking fake-o, bake-o ressies on the Disney site and see what happens... :wizard:

Well, I wish I could help you out with POP but you know I haven't been..

Oooh that sounds like a nice dream! :cloud9: I cannot wait to try the Tonga Toast at Kona!

I know, but I like having you here anyways! :goodvibes

It was a luscious dream! Does anyone know if you can order that compote that comes with it for extra at the CS place?? If so, how much?

yes, preferred sections are $10 extra - but I believe there are parts of 50's that are not preferred - I'll have to go dig.... :rolleyes1

I won't be doing that! It's already costing me about $350 to do this! Yikes!! :scared1:

Honestly - I want to go next fall - but I want to be there for Food and Wine fest!! :dance3:

Do you know when it starts??

NO kidding. I'm trying to figure out how a fake-o-bake-o ressie at the YC in August got me a value resort PIN for a 2 week period in Nov/Dec..:confused3

Yeah, I got one too that was completely useless! Don't they know I live in Crap-A-Stan??

No matter, with or without PINS most of us end up there anyhow!! :lmao:

Thanks for the prayers :goodvibes

I think Food and Wine is usually the last Thurs in Sept thru the first week in November... 2010 dates havent been announced... yet...

Apparently, they are behind, or very near Star Tours, according to my Imagineers Guide. I guess they light up at night?? Whatever they are, I am game to find them! Sounds fun!

Thanks, :goodvibes something new to add to my list. I realized that I am rarely over in that area after dark, so that may be why I haven't seen them. But I don't think I have ever read about them either. I am going to check my UG when I get home.

Getting a PIN no mater where you are is better than not getting a PIN!!!!!

I think.:confused3

Room only... Pay OOP for your meals.. request a queen size bed.. Don't ask for the 70's section. I'll come up with more ideas later!

I like your dream.....except for the coffee, which tastes like kaka to me...
LOL The Nescafe or all the coffee?

At the POLY you can drink Kona coffee everyday!... and I'm not even a coffee drinker!!! LOL

I was in the 50s section 3316 facing the lake. It was a non-preferred room and it was fairly close to the Classic Hall. It was quiet as I was towards the end of the hall and the stairs closest to me were not used that often so people didn't pass my room too much.

Everything Pop has pretty good food for a food court. I really didn't mind eating several meals there during my last vacation as they had good variety.

all coffee.....I love the smell but it tastes nasty...although I was only about 6 when I tasted it.

You may want to try again...but DON'T start with that nasty Nescafe!

Oh all the lovely things you miss!

Tiramisu

Bailey's and Coffee

The feel of the warm mug on a cold day in front of the fire...

the caffeine rush

the caffeine withdrawal

the caffeine withdrawal headache

JK. Clearly I didn't have enough today!

you're crackin me up.

OMG seriously?

Have you tried it yet?

I spent 13 years at the big green dot. I feel like they sold their soul.

It was a WE WILL NEVER

EVER

EVER

Go there.

And yet they did.

Actually they sold it a long time ago but I'm totally hijacking and digressing here. It still makes me sad though. Really really sad. Good years.

I bought it recently for an coffee chocolate chip shortbread I was making as normal instant is well, disgusting.

It's....interesting.

I won't be taking it camping, this much I'll say. I'll stick to my stainless steel french press. I do pack coffee for the world though, it's a requirement. It won't be VIA though. However I can really appreciate the travel size niceness of it.

Get this.....

Interview company....

Did the VIA packaging and campaign.

Now. Java Chip. The bomb. The liqueur?

Can I just say...Santa LOVES that stuff.
