Glad you had a safe trip, waiting to read your report. What happened?

What you talking about? "May end up having to switch resorts." Did you try the Villas? They are very nice.

Happy holidays everyone!!

Ya know, the holidays are really very cool in many ways.

They bring many people together. Friends, Family, and even a few strangers.

They make you remember days of old and dream of good things to come. Memories both good and bad go through your mind but overall you still end up smiling. That's a pretty powerfull feeling.

This year, I remember two great people that recently left this world. First and foremost, my dear mother who passed last year on October 29th. Second, my good friend Jon who's life was ripped from him in a car accident this past September.

I can't get over how cool it is to be part of the WL family and all who participate in the thread. You all give me hope and a bright light to look forward to when things are down.

This season, I give thanks to family and friends.
This includes my wife Renee and my daughter Julia but it also includes all of you.

Thanks for everything. From my "family" to all of you, I wish you the best wishes for a great holiday season and a 2004 that brings you many trips to the world.

Fred.....you have made me cry....in a good way. That was very touching....thanks for the well wishes and including us as your friends! We are all very lucky to have found each other!::yes::

oh Fred...I have a lump in my throat and tears in my eyes.
This too was a hard year for my family as I lost my Dad on Oct 12th. I am thankful that my daughter got to know him and thankful that we had time to say "goodbye" before he went.
Thanks family for giving me a bright spot in my day, each and everyday!

Majestic,
Thanks for reminding us of what is truly important...those we love and share our lives with. I lost my dad suddenly last November and then my grandmother 6 days later. Last Christmas we were still all 'numb', but this holiday season has been tough. But in the end, I am happy for the years we had...and the happy memories.

Love, Peace, Joy and Pixie Dust for everyone!

Merry Christmas.

'The Word became a human being and lived here with us. We saw his true glory, the glory of the only Son of the Father. From him all the kindness and all the truth of God have come down to us.' John 1:14 (CEV)

Well said Fred, Life is full of twists and turns and each of us has had our share. Christmas seems to bring them to the front of our mind I still think of my late Wife and the awesome holidays we shared. That is why I have told everyone for years, God gave us Christmas so we could take a break from reality.
That is why Kimmars thread is so important, it to gives us a break from the ever day world for a few minutes.. A place where we can just be ourselves and spend time with people that have heart and a common root. That is why it is so important to

Laugh when you can, sez I.

Fred, that was beautiful. All of you, I wish you a very blessed holiday. I pray that God blesses all of you in a very special way this coming year.

My mom has been with the Lord for 11 years now, and I still miss her terribly at this time (and always). She was our little "Santa". Christmas was a very special time of the year for her. She loved and still loves God so very much.

Always look for the brightest star in the heavens. It is there, we just have to look. Take care and my prayers and thoughts are with you all, always. :D

I just got this from the AllEars newsletter:

ALL EARS™ ticket guru, JackM, reports: Effective immediately, Wilderness Lodge will no longer accept faxed in room requests. All room requests must be added to your reservation by the Disney Reservation Center (WDTC and/or CRO) at least 10 days prior to your arrival at WL. Faxes may be sent to DRC at 407-939-3463 or they may be called in to 407-WDISNEY.

The official Disney policy on room preferences has always been that they need to be added directly to the reservation by DRC and contact with the resort was discouraged. In the past, that policy has not been strictly adhered to as the volume of the faxes received by the resort has been manageable. WL made this decision based on several factors, which included the increase in the number of faxes received and the adverse reaction upon resort arrival of many people who could not have their room requests granted. Currently, each resort is free to adopt this policy or not as they see fit. Do not be surprised if other Disney resorts soon join WL and the DVC resorts in not accepting faxed room requests.

pewing- you beat me to it! I just read that myself! Certainly interesting that the WL is leading the group in no longer accepting faxed room requests! Seems more straight forward and one less thing to remember to do.

Hope everybody is doing well. I've got a long night ahead- I see yards of wrapping paper and tape in my near future! ;)

Happy Holidays all!!

Fred- Thank you too for your thoughtful words. I was moved the first time I read them (at lunch from work) and took a moment for reflection.

I was touched again re-reading them just now only a few hours after a close work colleague (a young woman of 25) reported to us the findings of her mom's emergency surgery- that her mom has cancer in the stomach and pancreas. Her Mom is an amazing woman- ER Doctor, head of house with four kids- youngest is just 15, husband who is in a nursing home due to severe allergic reaction to peanuts over 10 years ago. My friend and her mom have a long road ahead. Not to be trite- but life is fragile.

Celebrate this holiday season and all year with those you care about! Celebrate them all year long.

Thanks for listening!

Liz

Fred & FC..your posts were from the heart, as well as everyone elses that posted.

The holiday time always brings back memories of our loved ones no longer with us. Just today I was looking at old pictures of my mom who passed away 6 years ago. I will never stop missing her. Im an only child, only neice, only grandchild. Grandparents and uncle have passed on as well. I thank God I have my Dad and my son. Thats it for all the family I have left. BUT, I include my friends as family and of course my WL family. So Im really lucky to have a big outside family. :)

Wishing all my WL family many blessings. Lots of Pixie dust and magical moments too!!

I agree with FC about how posting here can give us a break from reality. Thats why we all love going to the WL and WDW. We then bring it back here on the posts and it helps us get that great feeling we get when we are actually there. It helps tide us over till the next visit.::yes::

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVE everyone.

Well, it is finally here and I thought I would share with you all my little tradition. I have been doing this for a very long time and now I am privilaged to include my husband.

Every Christmas Eve, after all the festivities and excitement, I would go outside into the backyard. I do not turn on any lights. I take the time to look up at the stars (also to look for THE star, the brightest one), and the heavens. I keep very still and very quiet. I just take the time to thank our Lord and to listen for Him. I always tear up, I take the time to remember the good and the bad times of the year and to thank God for how many times He has come through for me. This year I will be able to have my husband stand behind me with his arms around me. And hopefully, God will have his arms around the both of us. Ohana means family. Always remember that, we are family.

Thanks for listening and God bless each and everyone of you and your families. Sorry to be so mushy, but I feel I can be this way with you all. Take care, be safe.

Faith, Trust and a Little Pixie Dust. :D

Thank you for sharing, I think this is so beautiful and we will do it tonight as we return from Midnight Mass as I know you are someone with heart.
You make a valid point as we rush to ask, but so often forget to say thanks. I have been in a crises these past few months, but I have not panicked and can say I have felt all your prayers and his strength. More important I still have my sense of humor, so I have much to be thankful for.

OH you guys...ur making me cry. Thank you for those wonderful heartfelt words and letting us all share our experiences here. I'm still a newbie to this thread, but I think its wonderful how everyone is so good to everyone here!

We lost my young cousin (28yrs. old) two years ago and this past May we lost his dad (my uncle) and its the first Christmas w/out him around and it's tough. But I know, even though they were called home to Heaven they're still around us all the time.

I'm sorry...I just needed to get that off, it's hard to talk to my family about it w/out getting over-emotional...and especialy the holidays its even harder. Sometimes you lose the value and joy of holidays from missing someone so much. ok ok...I'm sorry.

We wish all of our DIS/WL friends a WONDERFUL holiday and a VERY HAPPY HEALTHY 2004! :grouphug:

XOXO
