Its good to be home. First off, Liv2C did you get your mail?? The MVMVP was the best. One hint, sit on main street where the shops are. We sat near the castle and missed all the ACTION.
The lodge was beautifully decorated and the Christmas music playing got us in the Christmas mood.
We were in room 7043 courtyard view. A loooong walk from the concierge lounge and desk area, short walk to the back elevators to Roaring Forks and the boat dock. Also the window at the end of the hall you could watch the fireworks out of. Although we loved the lodge, we will not choose concierge again. The staff were friendly but not helpful. The pal mickey that I arranged a month in advance was not in the room when we checked in. I was told they would put it in the next day while we were gone to the parks, didn't see it. So I went down to ask about it and they said they didn't know anything about it, that I could go down to the gift shop and get it or they could do it, "it will only take a second". I told them to not worry about it, my husband wasn't interested anymore. No apologies. Then our stroller broke on Sat and I asked if they had one or knew were to get one and they told me that I could rent one at any of the parks or go to an outside company. Renting was fine at the parks, but didn't help us at Downtown Disney or coming and going in the parking lots. Try toting a 30lb sleeping kid around for hours. My husband did it for 1 day and had enough. We spotted some strollers for sell at Once upon a Toy. Sit down all you mothers for this piece of the story...we paid......$40.00 for a regular umbrella stroller. Thats right, I said $40. This stroller probably costs $15 at
Walmart. But when your back has had enough what can you do. Beyond the staff problems, the food was ok. If you wanted a coke you have to find someone to ask for it. They did have beer and you have ask for it too.
We ate at WC a few times. Loved the pork chops. Oldest got to do the pony ride and asked for the ketchup. Kinda on the expensive side but worth it.
More later got to go unpack and cook dinner.
