Lightweight stroller

We plan on renting strollers at the park but would like to bring one for the airport and when we go shopping at the marketplace. Any recommendations on a lightweight stroller that is easy to open, close, and not take up too much room on the Disney bus? My last "baby" is eight years old and I remember the trouble we had with her stroller and I would like to avoid that.

How much does your dc weigh? The Maclarens have a 55lb weight limit and a lot of people like the Mac Volo - good for older/taller kids, doesn't recline. I think the Mac Triumph has a few more features and is better for younger babies. We have a kidco LS2000 which is similar to the Macs and really like it. It's very easy to fold and unfold, 5-pnt harness, 5-position recline, has a smallish mesh basket underneath, ergonomic handles that are cushioned, and canopy with a little window you can peek at baby or keep it covered, and it has leg extenders. DS seems really comfy in it. The kidco strollers have a 50 lb weight limit. If you do a search, you'll find a lot of threads on strollers.

We just bought a combi savvy soho and LOVE it! It is easy to fold with just one hand and also has awesome carrying strap. I think it is 11lbs!

Since your last "baby" is 8 years old, I would not waste money on an expensive stroller. Instead, I would just by an umbrella stroller since they are very light weight and easy to open/close and you can find them on sale for $10 - $20. I am not sure about the weight restrictions on umbrella strollers, but when we were at WDW in September, we saw a couple using 2 umbrella strollers for their kids who were older youngsters. If they are close to the weight limit, I'd try it out in the store and buy it if it seems okay. Heck, if it breaks, you didn't spend a lot on it!
