I am looking for an inexpensive (less than $100) lightweight stroller for our upcoming trips to Hawaii and DisneyWorld. Our DS will be almost 3, but he's tall for his age.
I would like the stroller to fold up compactly, have a parent and child tray, and a basket underneath. Oh, and a canopy and reclining seat are a must as he still naps.
Can anyone give me any suggestions?
Thanks so much!!!!

We used cheap strollers and honestly did just fine with them. I had a double stroller at one point and a sit and stand and hated both for anything other than straight walking on smooth surfaces...not what I would find at Disney.
We used a graco one something like the following http://www.toysrus.com/product/inde...255983.2256189.2256203&pg=2&parentPage=family (that is $80 and has a 10 off which might cover shipping) I know it was Graco and similar to this without the baby snuggler in it but I also Know I got it clearanced at Sears for $25 so it probably wasnt as nice as that one. We carried my son at ages 2(very close to 3), 4(38lb, 38"), and 5 (40lb, 42")as well as my dd at 4, 6(43lb, 44"), 7 sometimes both at one time as my dd would sit on the handle of it and we were fine. However at some point when she was 7 and my son was 5 the handles bent. So anyway there shouldn't be a problem with a 3 year old. They both were comfortable laying down in it at 2,4 but and my son fell asleep in it a couple of times when he was 4 but my dd never did. On babiesrus.com they have a similar by another company http://www.toysrus.com/product/inde...255983.2256189.2256203&pg=3&parentPage=family for $40 but I know nothing about it.

We just went to Disney last month and I was in the same predicament. I was taking DD 11 months for the first time and I wanted to take something that was lightweight, comfy for her and easy for us to manage. I ended up getting the Cosmo EX Stroller from Combi . It only weighs 12lbs and it folds up with carrying strap which was really nice. It also reclined nicely for her to nap in the parks, which happened frequently! I ended up getting it for $80.00with a coupon a Babies R Us.

We have a peg perego, and I wouldn't recommend anything else. We bought the Graco CitiLite because it had everything you mentioned, but when we got it we noticed it was IMPOSSIBLE to steer. So, we bought the Peg Perego one and got a tray with a cupholder. It didn't have a parent tray, but we got a clip on cupholder. It is so easy, pushes with one hand.

Bottom line - when looking at strollers, make sure "pushability" is at the top of the list.

I have a Maclaren Volo. It is right at the $100 mark. It has a weight limit of up to 50 pounds (if I remember correctly.) It folds up very compactly, has a shoulder strap for carrying and weighs just under 9 pounds. It has a small basket underneath and a canopy but it does not have parent and/or child trays. These items are large, not collapsable in most cases and they add a lot of bulk to the stroller. I use my Skip Hop Dash (diaper bag) as a cup holder. I just strap it onto the handlebars of the stroller and use the cup holder and front pockets to hold DS's sippy & my drinks (usually bottled water but can also be used to hold drinks that are not completely full.) I am almost positive that you can purchase cup holders as an accessory as well. This stroller does not recline but DS has never had an issue sleeping in it. It sits upright but not so much that the child falls forward when they sleep.

I TOTALLY agree, DH bought a Jeep Stroller that he liked (it was on sale) and it had the worst steering imaginable!! I bought a Chicco.5 (DS is almost one) at Babies R Us, I put DS in it and actually drove it thru the store to be sure it steered okay. It was great, I tried the Volo too but it actually drove about the same so I went with the Chicco for price.

It doesn't have a cup holder but I bought one online to attach to the side plus I bought a Skip Hop Duo, so that should give us plenty of drink space.

good luck, stroller's weren't this complicated when I was a kid! My DM thinks I'm nuts when I come home with new "stuff" for DS, but there are sooo many options now.

We just bought this stroller for our upcoming trip to WDW...

It does not have a parent or child tray but we just bought those cupholders that snap on. Its VERY light (11lbs I think) and has a very big canopy and a smallish basket, and it folds up very compactly and even has a carrying bag and strap for travel.

It comes in 3 colors that i know of..the blue, red, and a seventies print.

This is the one I bought last night. I had a $25 reward certificate so it only cost me $21 total. If it doesn't work I can sell it for at least $20.

We have the chicco capri and it works fine for my 3 year old. She is average height and light weight.

We have also taken our peg many times but it is a little bulky on the busses. Only necessary for little ones under a year or so. Can't remember how old yours is?

I know it doesn't meet your criteria, but I have used a Maclaren Volo since DD was 6 months. I love this stroller. Mine was an older model and I just bought a new one for our upcoming trip because the new ones have the canopy and come with a rainguard - very nice feature. There are some $100 Volos but the 2007's are $130. I will tell you that I am a tightwad and I really believe this stroller is worth every penny. No recline - DD has always slept just fine sitting up. No parent or child tray - but you don't have to worry about keeping them clean OR the space they take up when the stroller is folded. What I LOVE about the Volo is the steering, turns on a dime. I can steer one handed even on rough pavement. And finally - the super tall handles - no stooping for mom and dad - save so much wear and tear on my back - cheep strollers just don't compare. So if you are stroller shopping, just give the Volo a spin around the store - in and around the merchandise racks - and you see what I mean. You just can't get around as well with other strollers!

WOW!!! I've got alot of homework to do!!! Thanks so much for all of the recommendations, I will research and consider every one!:disrocks:

This one is more than you want to spend but has everything you want & is a really nice stroller:

hth!

I would not consider this one in the "lightweight class". This stroller (one of 3 I own) is *very* cushy for baby, reclines flat 100%, and has lots of storage. Folds up with one hand and opens with one hand. Love it. Problem: the thing weighs a ton!!! Not suitable for Disney.
