Lightweight packable kids rain jacket?

Anyone know where I can find a lightweight rain jacket for our trip? I know you can buy ponchos at the park or before your trip, but I'd prefer lightweight jackets, the kind that I can fold and tuck away in a backpack. Any suggestions?

Check Walmart in the sporting goods section. They were in packages in a box on a shelf. I got my son one for Cub Scout camp. It folds into its pocket forming a a square like pouch. it was about $15. is waterproof ,has a hood, and nicely made.

They are on sale at The Childrens Place for under $10 and I have also seen them at LL Bean.

I got one for DD8 at the LL Bean outlet. It rolls and stores in its own pocket.

Those aren't the ones I have for my kids. At the time I bought them, they had the actual Packable Rain Jackets for kids, too-they were just like the adult ones. I just checked their website-they don't seem to have them for Kids right now. Sorry! Maybe LL Bean would have something.

I love REI brand rain coats. Winter coats too actually. I recently discovered that the kids 16-18 kids size fits me too, much cheaper than the adult size LOL. I buy them big, they run a size larger than stated, and my kids wear them for 2 years. The one I really love is kind of expensive: http://www.rei.com/product/753843 but they have a cheaper model as well, although I bought the cheaper one for my toddler and wish I would have sprung for the nicer one.

For rain jackets, a key feature is the little brim in the hood. It doens't need to be much, just an inch or two, but that is what keeps the rain out of your face. Whatever you buy, make sure to look for that brim!
