We're planning to build a lightsaber on our next trip and reservation day is almost upon us. I intend to schedule it near the end of the day since you can no longer send items from the parks back to your room. However, if that is not an option....what in the world do you do with it when riding the rides at HS? I'm thinking especially tricky might be R&R coaster and ToT. Are you allowed to carry it on at your own risk? Are there rides that, even if allowed, its nearly impossible to hold it without losing it or breaking it? Are they fragile or would it take quite a lot to break?

The only rides at DHS where I didn't take mine were ToT and R&R. Luckily my wife doesn't ride those, so she held it and took a break at a table nearby while I rode. All of the others I was able to fit it at my feet. A few times I put my foot through the strap to make sure it didn't roll around.

This was last October, but the (kind of weird) guy behind us in line at ROTR was waving his light saber all around the entire time in line and on the ride. The CMs played it up and the stormtroopers harassed him in line, but nobody ever told him to put it away.

Yes, the only 2 rides it cannot go on are ToT and RnRC. Other than that, it will go on all rides with you.

Just chiming in to confirm you take it on all the rides with you, except RNR and TOT (someone in my group didn't ride those and we left the light sabers with her). On the rides you do take it on, it just lies flat at your feet. I would just make sure you're sitting with someone who is careful not to step on it while you're getting on/off the ride. :)

I don't know if you're driving or flying to the parks, but if you're flying and don't want to carry your light saber on the plane, you can have it directly shipped from DHS to your home for about $18. Just go to the register in Droid Depot with your receipt and they'll take care of it. We shipped it out on a Saturday, and by the time we came home the following Friday, it was waiting at our door :)

If our whole group wants to ride RNR and TOT is our only option to lock it in a locker? I made our Savi's reservation for as late in the day as they had but there will definitely still be time to ride those rides again once we have our lightsaber.

No, there are no lockers at the rides so your group would need to line up and ride separately. I’m not sure if there are any lockers at the front of the park that are large enough to hold a droid and/or a lightsabre. Possibly someone else will know that answer?

I’m not sure about lockers. But if you don’t care about playing with it in the days immediately after you build it, you can build it then directly ship it home at the register in Droid Depot. Cost us about $18 to ship from FL to PA and it was at our house 6 days after we shipped it, waiting for us when we returned. This way we didn’t have to worry about how to take it on the plane either.
