Hi Derek - sending prayers and warm wishes to Wendy's and your family.![]()
Mine too Derek and Wendy
And for Jordan![]()
Thanks everyone for your prayers and thoughts for Wendy's family and for Jordan. We really appreciate the friendships and support from DIS and I even shared about you guys at our Bible study last night (mentioning how we're praying for some folks and have brothers and sisters in Him on the TR). You guys are awesomeWe are also sending prayers to Wendy and Derek's family.
Thinking of you Jordan, I hope you are ok.
Thanks Camille for sharing this. The UChicago alumni community is fairly large considering the students from the college and the various grad schools. I graduated from the Harris School of Public Policy Studies in '93 and probably wouldn't have crossed paths with them at the college (except for walking past them in the quads). I still miss the school and have some great friends in LA from UChicago. Ironically, I'm not even involved in alumni activities with UCLA even though it's right here in LA. Go figure. This is where my SIL and BIL went to college. I think he graduated in 92.
She graduated in '93.
Sorry for being absent...I've been laying low so as not to take away the focus on Jordy....I know we all miss the goofy side of him...but I must say, he must really trust the DISers because he shared some really personal info that he hasn't even shared with his extended family. I guess we know who his real family is
Thanks for noticing my break from the TR....I'll tell Wendy you said hello. This has been a busy week for both of us with various activities for the kids, a week of prayer at our church where Wendy has attended a couple times this week (and me one day) to pray for others whenever possible, and then I've been running errands for a weekend dads and daughters (Indian Princess) camping trip for Erin and me.
I know you all miss Jordan very much and I know he misses you all too. His separation from Facebook, DIS, and even family and friends, shows me he is seriously trying to self-process, self-diagnose and self-heal through this lifetime of struggles that he's been bearing. I'm sure he's busy wrapping up his responsibilities at church and he usually helps plan a Memorial Day trip for over 100 friends and family members with his brother, Jon, so he still has a lot on his plate. On top of all that, Wendy's extended family has several family members dealing with cancer/health concerns (her dad has additional chemo rounds to go through, her second cousin was recently diagnosed with Lymphoma, and another family member may have other issues). I think this is a time for all peeps to come together
and keep each other in prayer.
Funny story...I love the part about "you have a great sister"....I can almost see our daughter Erin telling Dylan to say that back to her.
Thanks Cherie for the prayers for all of us. Seems like cancer is surrounding us. The wife of the new couple who joined our Bible study last night is busy/weary from taking care of her mother who has terminal pancreatic cancer. I look forward to the day that there is "no more sadness, no more illness" when we're all in heaven.I have been wondering how Wendy's father is doing. Sorry to hear about the other family members too. We are sending prayers for all of you.
I hope Jordan takes his time dealing with all of this. The Dis is FUN but he should focus on himself first.
Hugs to everyone!!![]()
