Just wondering if the "Cars" characters are still making appearances in MGM. Are they in the parade and then out for photo opps as well? Anyone know when they might be scheduled to leave? Hopefully not before October, my 4-year-old will be absolutely thrilled to see them.

We saw them there on August 9th. Haven't heard if there is any plans for them to leave. I am hoping we get to see them again in December. Good luck!

They were both in the parade and out for pictures the last day we were there on the 19th of this month.

We just got back tonight from our trip but we did see Lightning and Mater at MGM. They make several appearances during the day and then they are in the Stars and Motor Cars Parade at 5:00. You can take pictures with them during their "performances". They come out in front of the LMA Stunt Show entrance and then they go up the Streets of America where they stop for pictures. It was kind of crazy for the photos - all the other character greetings you form 1 line and each child gets a turn with the "celebrity". For the CARS characters you can just stand next to either vehicle for your picture. As soon as they stopped everyone ran to either Lightning or Mater and it was very difficult to get a picture in (but I managed!)

One word of caution - the CARS characters do not come out in the rain. We waited for the 1:45 show which was cancelled because of the rain and an approaching thunderstorm. Luckily by the 2:45 show it had cleared up and they came out. If you wait until the last show (which was 2:45 this week) and it's raining, you might not get another chance to see them that day, unless you see them in the parade, but then there's no photo ops.

I saw them in the New York city scape area around 10:30am. It was cool because you could walk right up to them and take pictures.
