Lightning Lane Premier Pass is launching October 23

Everyone has their priorities. On this board, we have people who pay a premium to stay in what they consider to be a bubble. To them it is worth several hundred to not encounter the outside world while on vacation. Others value spending $300+ per person for Chef's Counter at Napa Rose. Some on this forum enjoy the princess breakfast (over $180/person with tax and tip) after they spend $200 for Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. And some on this board feel so passionate about not flying into LAX that they will spend hundreds extra to fly in and out of SNA.

To each their own. With the exception of the airport, Disney offers these options because, while they might not be for you, they are definitely for someone else.

The difference is for the most part you staying a hotel or eating someone nice doesn't affect me

Also if people buy this it could be the first step to take away the cheaper options to me, Disney since covid has done everything with a purpose.
Paid FP sucks, but its 30ish bucks so most people can get that on a trip but 400 bucks for one person.....per day. Supporting that can just lead the park to become more and more for the rich and the rest of us will get less of an experience

Just to me pointing out how this is different then other things people could do with money like going to a nice restaurant.

My post was in reference to comments that were made judging whether or not it was reasonable to spend the money to purchase LLPP. While it might not be reasonable for some, we've already seen interest in this thread, so it is reasonable for others. Everyone goes to a park for a different reason. For those who want to go on all of the LL rides without having to constantly be on their phones to fish for and book LLMP, this might be of value.

In response to how it impacts me, we used to do staycations at GCH because the price was similar to other hotels. When they added DVC, the prices soared. It took away my "cheaper options" and that was way before the pandemic.

There are several people on this forum who won't view a parade or show without reserved seating. Reserved seating took away some of my favorite "cheaper option" viewing spots. That happened before the pandemic.

Some love OBB. I can't stand it. OBB impacts the crowds and wait times at both parks which affects me.

As has been mentioned several times, someone who is purchasing LLPP would have likely purchased LLMP or a VIP tour if LLPP wasn't offered. Those people are already getting on the rides before those who choose "cheaper options."

And your post basically confirms why this sucks

they just keep adding up charges and taking away the cheaper options

I’d much rather see a ticket price that allows all guests to have a good experience than this current system of tiered ticket prices and a multitude of add ons. Disneyland used to be a unifier, a place where almost everyone had the opportunity to have the same experience. Sure, maybe one family wasn’t buying as many souvenirs or eating at BB, but for the most part the experience was similar. I’d hate to be taking my child to Disneyland now and have to spend all my time explaining why the people in that line get to go faster, why those people get to be in the front row seating for the parade or Fantasmic!, etc.

I’m saying this as someone who now can afford to do some of the add-ons, and has. It’s really too much now. And honestly, I far more enjoyed staking out my curb spot for MSEP in 2022 than I enjoyed paying for a Plaza Inn dining package for the Christmas parade in 2023. One experience rewarded my willingness to give up some time to wait for the parade, and I enjoyed chatting with guests around me as we waited. The other involved waiting in line to get into the seating with a group of people complaining about the line, then waiting in the enclosed area with a group of people complaining about how tightly we were packed in and how we still had to stand (or sit on the ground for the first row of people). The people who had paid for the experience were overwhelmingly less happy about their wait than the people who had staked out curb spots. 2023 was the first time I had ever paid for a parade viewing spot, and I won’t do it again. I don’t mind waiting for curb spots, and until recently I would always stand up for the parade once it started so children nearby could have the very front row and interact with characters (starting 2022 I had to stay seated due to worsening disability).

Same thing with F!, we paid for a dining package once when they were newer, I believe it was Cafe Orleans. Our viewing area was farther off to the side than I would have expected, and we were all required sit on the ground so groups behind us could see. None of us thought it was worth it.

Last year we did the WoC dessert party, and this was only so I could sit down to watch WoC as a disabled person who wasn’t using a walker or wheelchair. DH didn’t think it was worth it, but maybe people who take advantage of the included alcoholic beverages find it to be a better deal. Again, there was just so much waiting. Once you decide to pay that much for the experience, you don’t want to be the person at the back of the line getting a “bad seat”, so you’re advised to arrive an hour before Disney tells you to arrive.

I guess my point is, even the paid experiences aren’t really much of an improvement. Short of doing the VIP tours, it’s still crowded and you wait a lot.

There are too many guests at Disneyland, which is why they sell all of these upgrades. I’d rather they just choose an acceptable ticket price and let us fend for ourselves inside. DH longs for the days of zero fast pass or paid line cutting at all.

What's humorous to me is if they got rid of LLMP, and only keep LLPP, it would actually improve standby wait time. The Universal express pass, except on the busiest days, really doesn't affect the standby line too much at Universal (or Knotts fast lane).

LLMP is actually the problem (i.e. the main cause of) standby wait times getting out of control.

I highly doubt Disney will do that, but I actually hope they will get rid of LLMP at some point.

What they MIGHT end up doing is adjusting the LLMP to be like how it is in Disneyland Paris (Premier pass, plus single attraction passes).

The price IS ridiculous for what is on offer, but that's a separate issue.

I’m feeling VERY called out LKing…. 😅🤣

Boarding my flight to SNA right now, staying at the Disneyland Hotel, and have a couple (hey, I really love it >.<) reservations over next week for the Chef’s Counter…
Per the bolded. I spoke to them yesterday and the room we stayed in with the poop water is going to get a maintenance overhaul. You won’t be getting a poop water room!

I actually debated asking you what your room number was but you mentioned you had a pool view, I have a Downtown Disney view so that reassured me a little, lol.

Though I could easily see a water issue, even if it’s not a safety issue, being wide spread with old buildings like that…

Yeah, I see people say this and I'm sorry but thats just wrong

Jurassic World, Mummy and Transformers many times on busy days will fill out entire cars with little to none normal guests. They let in express and many times one of the loading docks for Jurassic World is just used for express and if they happen to have room for more guests they will let you in but on a busy day it will happen very little.

Harry Potter literally has you skip half the castle and the Tram when its an hour can still be a walk on for express....so yeah no idea why people say this when its not true at least at USH.

Overall, this makes me sad. It's catering to the people who need it least, and I don't mean just by Disney, but in general. It's sad to me that those families that have to save up for a special Disneyland visit essentially get a "lesser" experience than those who can afford to buy their way up. I don't know, but I'm guessing Walt wouldn't have liked that idea. However, this isn't the 1950s-60s and it's unfair to compare what things were like in Walt's day.

True, and there were far fewer rides. But it was Walt's vision to offer a park for average families.
You are absolutely right, and charging per ride would easily end up costing less, as people could choose which rides they wanted to pay for. The all inclusive ticket was about making money for Disney, not making Disneyland cheaper for people.

I think the vast amount of people get *more* value out of a single day ticket price vs paying individually for attractions now. Even with a $200/day ticket, Rise is $28. Assuming the average price per ride is $20, that would be 10 attractions in a day. If you have a multi day pass (which makes the per day cheaper), or park hopper, I think you could easily do 10 attractions in a day.

I did say on the busier days it will affect the standby line.
It's relatively much less of an effect, except on the busier days. This is probably due to the fact that more people will tend to get the express passes on the busier days as well as it just being busier.

USH has to do what you state (fill out entire cars) when it's needed, otherwise people won't feel that they are getting their money's worth on the express pass.

All I'm saying is that in general, if the Premier pass was the only option (no MP or SP), it would overall be better. Will there be days that are just like now? Sure, but there should be fewer, just because fewer people will be able to justify the purchase.

I would think that for Disney, not having to maintain the return time system would also be beneficial.

Do I see it happening any time soon? No.

Anyone know where and how we can buy this pass? Also, would it include Tiana’s even before it opens to the Public or no? I’ll be there Nov 4&5. Thanks!
