We are one week from our first experience booking Lightning Lanes at WDW. We are staying on-site so we will be booking for 8 days in advance at the MK and 11 days in advance at Epcot. I have done a lot of research on this subject and have a couple of questions for people that have experience with LLs.

1. How is payment done for LLMP and LLSP? Is it charged to your room if on-site or is it something that is charged to a credit card immediately?

2. Can you use Disney Gift Cards to book LLs?

3. How difficult is it to book separate activities? I am an early bird and my wife is not. We will meet each other in the parks, but we are trying to coordinate times of shared experiences.

4. WE have 3 people in our party. Ho difficult is it to book LLSP for either on or two of our party?

I used to have the old FP system down, but have not been to WDW since that went away. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Yes you can book with giftcards. This is the only way I've done it and it's obviously charged/taken out as soon as you book it and I assume the same for credit card. I do not believe there's a way to charge to room.

I would always book for your whole party at the same time and than exchange money (if needed) and/or modify later.

One thing to keep in mind is LL is very particular on how much (if any) you can overlap with other plans (dining, other llanes etc). I honestly can't remember the most they'll let you overlap (maybe 15 mins?) before you get to the park. The day of, once you're in the park modifying to more desired times seems to get easier.

I'm sure others will come to get in more details but wanted to give you the info I have.

We only have experience with the credit card. For us, the LLSP and MP purchases are immediately charged to the card after we complete and verify our selections for that day. You can't charge to the room, I assume because most purchases are done in advance before you even have a room. However, our mobile order charges also go right to the credit card and not the room - so it might be using a similar system.

I agree with brackish - take advantage of 'modify' to finalize your plans. It works really well. We became more comfortable with 'modify' our last trip, and it allowed us to overlap our LLMP selections, and only showed us a warning message if we might have an ADR close to the time of the LL. From personal experience, we had a 30-minute overlap with LL - not sure what the max is.

Payment is taken immediately.

You can pay with credit card, debit card, Disney rewards redemption card, or gift cards.

You have to book one day at a time and give payment each time.
You have a small window of time to pick your attractions and timing of them.

Unless you're going to go in and purchase each person separately you'll be booking everyone for the same attractions at the same time.

If you're an early bird then I suggest that you just rope drop the attractions you want to go on without the rest of your party and make the LL's for later in the day when everyone will be there.
