hi
is there anyone out there that is on any of these diets?
i have done lighterlife just over a year ago and lost 5 stone but it is now creaping back on:scared1:
is anyone one one of these and how are you doing? how long have you been doing it and how much have you lost?
im thinking of giving the cambridge diet a try as its cheaper than lighterlife.
so any motivation and advice from others doing these diets would be great:)
thanks and good luck all dieters

My mum did the Lighterlife diet last year and lost about 5 stone, she has gone up an dpwn by about 12lbs sonce then, she is finding it really hard to keep the weight off and she can't seem to stick to the diet any more. I don't think this diet is really a long term solution.

Good luck :goodvibes

i agree with Jen, these type of diets don't help you to address your eating habits that lead to you putting weight on in the 1st place and therefore are a short term solution :sad2:

I don't think any of these diets are a long term solution to weight control. They may give a short term loss, but only changing your life style, eating a sensible balanced diet and taking plenty of exercise will provide a stable long term solution and improve your general fitness and health.

I did Lighterlife a few years ago, lost about 4 stone. Everyone can lose weight on it if they stick to it as its basically a starvation diet of liquids with vitamins. The problem is that is completely avoids any food issues you might have because it removed 'food' from the equation. They say you get counselling with it but the people running the courses are there to earn money and are not qualified counsellors (with a few exceptions).

I lost just as much weight last year on weight watchers eating yummy food. And once this baby is out i'm going right back on it to finish what I started late last year.

I can only say please save your money and don't spend any money on meal replacements, they mess with your body and just aren't worth the effort! If the weight is creeping up perhaps try doing a low GI diet as I know Lighterlife was very low carb so eating good carbs might help with any weight you may be putting on. I think with any diet avoiding too much 'white stuff' is always good.

If you're absolutely wanting to do another liquid diet then I would recommend the Cambridge Diet as its cheaper, the shakes taste MUCH better, you can get little cartons to take with you when you go out/to work and you don't have to do just shakes, you can do a shake at breakfast and lunch and have a normal dinner if you like, its up to you.

Its brilliant you lost the 5 stone and you seem very committed to keeping it off! Good luck :thumbsup2
