Lightening McQueen

I've seen pictures and video of the actual lightening McQueen character that comes out. Is he always available? It's a must for my son.

He's not always available, but he regularly (i.e., daily) meets guests in Carlsand (DCA). He usually rotates with one of the other Cars characters (Mater, Red, or Cruz) and meets at either Cozy Cones or on the walkway by Luigi's (it can vary). Right now, he's dressed up in his Halloween costume as a super hero. Usually the Disneyland App would be a good place to find out the schedule, but it's been having problems lately and there is a message saying their aware of the issues and in the meantime, ask a CM. So when you get to Carsland, go to the Cozy Cones and ask one of the character handler CMs when Lightning is likely to appear; they should be able to help you.

They rotate the characters. When I was there last week Mater was leaving as Lighting McQueen came driving up.

Every time we have gone we always see him riding up.DD prefers seeing him roll by than standing in line for a picture.

I think each car is out for about 20/30 minutes. Right now I know Mater, McQueen and Cruz are rotating. Red does too occasionally but I think he doesn't come out as often as the others. There is always a car in front of the Cozy Cone and the CMs do come through the line and warn people at the end if they will miss the current car so they are prepared.
