I know the Disney Store sells the light up spin toys that WDW also sells before night parades/shows. Are the ones at WDW more expensive? I think the Disney Store ones are $12.99. Are they both similar, or are the WDW ones a lot cooler? Just wondering if I should buy them now to take down for our trip, or wait until we are in the parks??:confused3

I just checked ours from December and it was 13.14. If you get one, make sure the screw for the battery face plate is there.

We only paid 15.00 for a Buzz Lightyear light up spin toy at MK last year. DS loved it.:thumbsup2

Keep checking Disneyoutlet.com. I don't see them now, but I got them a couple of months ago for $5.99! :thumbsup2

Which one were you interested in? I might be able to help you with one (if you don't mind a used one).

I know it isn't disney but the Party City Store had spongbob ones today when I went for $2.

It depends on how old you children are and how you handle it. We got away with bringing our own 2 yer in a row when DD was 2 1/2 and 3 1/2. I got them from the Disney store BoGo at Xmas. I just had them in my backpack and pulled it out at the appropriate time, at dusk and before she saw the cart of them. DH acutaly caved and got her the Tink one on the Castle while we were there but that is another story.

This year at 5, she was a bit more savy and wanted the Mickey light saber type thing which was actually only about 6.00. DD 2 1/2 got a Tink spinner until she saw what the other one got then she wanted that too.

Target has several varieties that are only $4.00.
They also have some small ones for $2.00.

Be careful how you pack them. I had some I purchased on sale at the Disney Store in our backpack diaper bag...dh shoved something in on top of them and apparently they were lighting up inside the bag. The batteries were totally out by the time nighttime came around. :sad1:

I was gonna say, last year I bought some from Target at 75 percent off after their Easter clearance - as they have some for Easter. I noticed Walmart has some for Easter too, if you don't mind not having Disney ones.

Have a great trip!

When ds was 2 I bought him a Buzz spinner at DCA. That $14 toy still entertains him at home (but is really showing it's wear now). On our last trip, we bought him a new Stitch spinner at MGM one night for $15. Since he loves them so much and we don't buy many park suvineers any more I don't mind the expense.

All the advice given here is great - don't throw them in a bag and let things sit on them because you might activate it and wear the battery down.

When you buy one make sure the screw is on the battery cover plate. It doesn't hurt to pack a small screw driver in your suitcase just in case you have to replace a toy battery mid-trip either.

Now I'm wondering if I should have waited to buy DD's at WDW! I got a spinning Nemo light up toy today from the Disney store but it was $12.50. Is that an ok price?

We bought our DS a Buzz Lightyear at the Disney store before we went on our trip in '04 just to save some money. It was cheaper but they were different (color wise)than the ones in the parks. I have also picked up my DD and my niece a Heffallump one from the Disney store b/c they won't know the difference!
