Light-up items?

What's the best place to purchase the light-up items before going to WDW? I know Oriental Trading Company has them, but I'm afraid we're too late to order from there. Anyone know any local places that sell them?

Check Dollar Tree. I found some there today that had 2 necklaces and 2 bracelets with 4 connectors in one package for $1. That's a pretty good deal. There were stickers on the outside of the package to identify the color inside. There was a whole new display box of these, so I'm sure they are pretty new and will work well.

UGH - just looked it up and the closest Dollar Tree to us is 24 miles away! With the prices of gas these days, I don't think I'd be saving any money LOL.

I know Wal Mart has some night sticks and bracelets. At our store they were in the part aisle. Also if you have a Party City near you they carry them also. Of course they're not as cheap as dollar tree!

Is the purpose of the light up items to help kids not be so afraid in the dark rides? Do they allow these in the dark rides? I know that some don't allow flashlights. We are taking my five year old grandson to WDW, and the last time we took him, that's the thing that bothered him the most, the dark. It has been a long time since I've had a child, so I'm not up on things like I used to be! If these glow in the dark things work, I'll look for them! (as long as they have them in "boy" colors)

Good morning!

I looked at your response, and realized Dollar Tree is out of the question. Try Big Lots, Dollar General, Wal Mart (some for 48 cents in the toy section cheapie stuff). The light chasers I have seen at different Wal Mart stores, though not of the Disney theme. My 3 y/o grandson wore the bracelets at the Spectromagic parade last year. The kids like all this glow in the dark stuff, and what they sell from the vendor carts gets expensive when you multiply it for several kids. Buy some of these things in advance, then when the parade time comes at night you will be prepared and your child will be happy.

I found some "light sticks" on clearance at WalMart for $1; one was red-ish, the other lime green. They run on a battery (included) and not only do they "glow' but the end works like a flashlight. These were about 8 inches long and came with a break-away lanyard! When I got home, I put some Disney stickers on them and PRESTO...instant nighttime glow toy. They look sooo neat! I also found some mini-flashlights (3 inches long, as big as a fat pencil) by Eveready near the checkout. Came 2 in a pack for under $4, I think. These had clips on them for a backpack, etc. I bought a set of these as well and also put some Disney stickers on them. I thought these might be better for dark rides....

Dollar Tree's website LIED! They said the closest one is 24 miles from here - not so! I found one, ironically, in the same shopping center where the Party City is (I was going specifically for light-up items).

They had lots, in different colors. Got enough to keep DD & her 13yo uncle happy .

My Super Target store has a new dollar section in the front of the store. They have light up necklaces right now in foil packs for $1 each.

*I* want a Super Target too! I got so spoiled living by one in Dallas, and then I moved here, to the sticks... No Starbucks, no Super Target, no civilization. ::sigh::

We just got a new Target, I still haven't figured why they didn't make it a Super - I'm guessing b/c there is a grocery within that same complex, and there were restrictions on what could be allowed.

And a Super Target WITH a dollar section, man oh man, I'd be in heaven!
