Thanks

Jenn

Rhode Island Novelty has a really good selection of glow sticks, glow necklaces and bracelets. Their website is rinovelty.com

They sell most items by the dozen, but you can use 1 per child per night of your trip, then put the rest away for New Year's, 4th of July, whatever.

:teeth:

Family Dollar or any of the Dollar stores carry these necklaces/bracelets. I bought some before my October trip - and wore them (and gave them out) at the MNSSHP.

We bought a bunch at Wal-Mart in the Halloween clearance section. They had green, orange, pink, and blue for $.44 each. I grabbed at least 20, knowing that my DS would enjoy them at Spectro and Fantasmic, and since we go 2-3 times per year, they'd definitely be used. Maybe if you can still find some Halloween clearance somewhere you'd find a very cheap deal.

All I know is that you should never take an ax to any glow stick.

We did that once in Boy Scouts about 30 years ago (they had just come out and no one knew what we were doing). Needless to say, it was a big mess.

I can only imagine! Was everyone glowing? Any chance of pictures? :lmao:

I've always wondered if gate security at the parks minds if a person brings in light sticks and such. This is why I never brought my own. It appears it is A-OK to have light sticks and bracelets in my bag, so I think I'll brings some with me next week. Unless this is something I have to sneak in.....then I'll pass (I am bringing a clear backpack). If I have to sneak, please let me know!

Wal-Mart carries them year round for .88. I have several ready to go for my trip.

OH Yes...it done blowed up real good. I was smart enough to stand well away from the event, but, the Axman was covered in glowing goop.

I brought in about 5 or 6 each day last year- I never had a problem with them. The guards didn't say anything when they saw them in my backpack.

I saw some today in walmart, was going to pick a couple of them up for my upcoming trip, there something i have always enjoyed as a kid, but i'm wondering if i would look "stupid" if i had a glow stick bracelet now that i'm an adult.. hehehe

I had some in my bag each day and noone ever said anything when my bag was checked. I didn't even think about hiding them. My children shared some with other children sitting near us and also with me and their Aunt. Neither of us adults had any concerns with wearing them, I didn't even think twice about it actually just enjoyed!

Sorry I can't help you with an ebay site, I got all of ours at a Dollar Store. The best thing I got though was this necklace that was a light stick but it was a little different. It had a button and the stick had 4 (I think) different colors. Each time you pushed the button it changed colors, changed to blinking or solid on/off. What my children loved about them was they could have them each night due to the on/off switch and also that they were selling them at the traveling carts before the parade. There was just something special about seeing their sticks on the cart (even though I am sure they cost me quite a bit less at the dollar store than from the cart :thumbsup2 ).

I buy them from the dollar store. I buy enough so we can share them with other children who are desperately looking at my daughters. :)

We don't really have dollar stores around here so I'll be buying a bunch from Oriental Trading and passing them out at the parades, fireworks, etc.

It's Disney! Who cares! Everyone's running round with Mickey/Tigger/Stitch/etc ears! No big deal about a glow stick bracelet! :cheer2:

Totally OT - my apologies to the OP - but when we go camping we cut open a glow stick and sprinkle it on the walls of the tent. It looks like stars. ;)

When I was a camp counselor many moons ago. The boys camp near by cut the ends off the glow sticks and decorated their faces and chests and snuch through the woods to scare the girls. We never found out if they got rashes etc but we heard they could not get the stuff off!!! I have to say it was funny at the time but who knows the long term effect....
