DS7 is a HUGE :bounce: :bounce: Star Wars fan. I had heard somewhere that in front of Star Tours there are Light Saber lessons. Anyone have any info??? TIA :tink:

Its right next to star tours. I, personally would steer clear of it. They choose kids to go up on stage and learn to fight with the light saber. Well the problem is, they just seem to randomly choose kids. We went 3 times in one day and our son never got choosen. There is a little face painting stand across the way from it, get your sons face painted like darth mal and it seems to increase your chances. Our son has sensative skin so we couldnt resort to that but every session we went to some kid with a darthmal face got choosen. My son still talks about not getting to do it.

Both my kids, DD 5 and DD 6 were chosen. They were at the first show and were standing in the front. They had a blast and we go some really cute pictures. If your guy is really into it, get to the show first thing and just hang out...you should get picked. My two didn't have any face painting or anything...maybe we just got lucky. Good Luck!

Of course it's random. Why should your kids automatically get picked?

my 11 yr old son is a star wars officianado, and he got picked, and took his confrontation with darth vader rather seriously....we were up front, first show too. he loved it.

The Jedi training academy is "Permanent" (Like anything else it could end anytime), but right now it's permanent.

We got there early during spring break and were in the front. We talked to the CMs about getting picked and they said to get in the front and jump up and down like a crazy person   My DS 7 got picked and LOVED LOVED LOVED it. If you dont' get picked, keep trying. If you get in front and are make a scene I bet you can get on. They pick quite a few kids, I think 15 when we were there.

It's not going on anymore. It's been down for awhile.

We did it May during the Star Wars weekend!
DS 9 and DD 7 were both chosen. We also heard to jump up and down like crazy! It seemed they were picking a lot of children, though! To be honest with you, the kids were being "loosely" chosen, so one couldn't really tell who exactly was being pointed to, and it seemed like they were all being called up. I would say there were about 50 kids in total and it was a late show.

its something they do durning starwars weekends in may and early june

We have seen this at times other than Star :darth: Wars Weekend. We haven't been in a couple of months so I don't know if it is still there or not.

The Jedi Training has been closed for awhile. They have stopped doing it for a couple of months, at least.

This year they were doing outside star wars weekends. The hopes were that it was going to be permanent. Apparently that didn't come true. Too bad it was AWESOME!!

they may have done it to be permnent and that would have been awesome. when i was down there in jan they did not have it. it may have been a test run for the permanent thingy and it did not bring enough crowds never can tell why they do things at disney some times.
