Light Dinner for Arrival Night after WCC AYCTE Lunch?

We will be staying at BRV in December. I was able to move our flight up, and we will now be arriving at 10:25. I'm figuring we will arrive at our resort by 12:30, right in time for lunch. Right now, I have WCC booked for a dinner later in the trip, but I'm thinking of moving it up to our arrival day. I have The Wave (our favorite restaurant) booked for our first night, but I can't imagine eating the AYCTE skillet for a late lunch and then trying to enjoy The Wave. That is just too much food for me. If I do switch WCC to our arrival day lunch, I will change The Wave to later in the trip (in place of the WCC dinner). I'm thinking a late lunch at WCC would be the way to go. This would ensure we are good and hungry, on time in case of a flight delay, and a cheaper alternative to dinner. But I need a suggestion for something light to eat that night. We want to enjoy the WL lobby at night with all the Christmas lights lit up, but we also will need to eat. Would it be a good idea to maybe do something at the Poly or GF right before HEA? We won't necessarily want a TS meal though. We've eaten at Tambu Lounge before but I'm worried about the crowds right before fireworks. It will be a Saturday night close to Christmas. Any advice on what to do?

I would not book lunch in my arrival day. There are just too many variables that impact when your will actually get to the resort. Personally I would find cs somewhere and keep dinner at the Wave.

Do you really want to begin your vacation stressing because you are running late for lunch?

I also probably wouldn’t book a lunch on arrival day in case of delays but if you stick to WCC for lunch, maybe Geyser Point and then a boat over to the Contemporary for a monorail tour of the resorts and decorations in the evening? All lounges have some small bites that could be shared. I believe (need to confirm) lounges open around noon so could do in reverse as well.

I also would not book lunch on your arrival day. There is too much risk with travel delays. I, personally, would keep your Wave reservation and just have something light to eat at Geyser Point when you arrive at WL.

Oh my! I just realized you will be there in December. Keep the wave for sure. Explore your own resort and have cs there. Use thd rest of the day to tour the monorail resorts and check out the decorations. End at the CR for your dinner. If you are still ready for more take a spin on the monorail to peek at Epcot after Dark, and then head back to your resort. The holiday decorations are so nice, so use the time to enjoy them

I never book an Arrival day ADR sooner than 5 hours after Scheduled arrival.
I think I remember from past posts that you have some anxiety concerns. I would never put myself in the position of worrying if I would make an ADR.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I think you guys are right. Our flight last year was delayed 3 hours. We didn't have ADRs booked since it was a 6 pm flight (ended up departing at 9 pm). I sure hope that doesn't happen two years in a row! I have just been wanting to try to get WCC for lunch instead of dinner, and when I was able to move the flight up from 11 am to 7:40 am, I thought that might work. We will probably eat at Geyser Point at the end of our trip right before DME picks us up. I have heard Roaring Fork is not very good now, so I am hesitant to have that as our first meal. I think what I may do is try for a walk-up at WCC when we arrive and just get something lighter than the AYCTE skillet. I'll keep The Wave for dinner but may move it back a little. If we do end up eating at WCC for lunch that day, we may replace the WCC dinner later in the trip with Yak & Yeti. We have the Landry's card, so we can just walk in, and we will be at AK that day.

Can anyone confirm that Roaring Fork is not good now? That would probably be the most convenient choice, but I want something good as my first meal at WDW.

(I think that eating at WCC is important to me because I think it might see some changes in the near future like Artist Point. It's kind of a tradition to eat at WCC. I'd like to eat there one more time in case it sees changes. Plus we are staying at BRV and may add some DVC points there, so I want to really experience the resort and it would be nice not to have to leave for two meals that day.)
