ok so I have some problems with blinking lights ( the ears and other lights on the cart that the CM sells at night are very bad for me) with that said how bad is the christmas light at DHS, also how crowded is it when going to see the lights is it easy to go in and get out really quickly if I need to or is it like main street during the fire works. I would love to see them this year since it is the last year so I am going to try it also what day Nov. 19 or nov, 20 do you think would be less crowded

I've never been, but my DD tells me that the Osbourne Family Lights show is EXTREMELY crowded, and millions of bright, blinking lights.

There is a dessert party, which would allow you to be out of the main crowd.

I have seen youtube videos of it and it did not look that crowded but I have heard it is very crowded and this being the last year I think it will be very crowded I think I am just going to try and prepare my self for the worst and hope for the best. I am going to try it thursday and see how it goes that way I can come back friday but would really like to have friday as down time at the hotel

it's called the spectacle of DANCING lights. about every 12-15 minutes, the lights dance to music. maybe you could go in to see some decorations and leave when the music starts? the problem is sometimes you can just walk around aimlessly, and you would be able to get out. but when it's crowded they direct the group in kind of a one way only fashion.
I'm thinking this year it will be very crowded since it's the last year. we have Annual Passes and had no intention of going. if myhusband wasn't having back surgery in nov. I think we would go for a short trip a lot of people are doing that.

yes I know there are a lot of people going just to see them they look so cool on youtube. I think I am just going to go back to the hotel for a few hours before hand just to relax before going to HS then bring a hat and sunglasses with me that way if it is too much I can out the hat and sunglasses on and look down and try to get out. I have really never been in that area how long of a walk is it form one end to the other if they are directing people in a one way fashion and do you think thursday will be less crowded then friday since those are my two days I can make it over as the other I am doing something.

a weekday would probably be better, as I'm sure a lot of locals will be also trying to see "the lights" one more time.

your, idea sounds good, and if you run into a problem (extreme anxiety, panic, etc.) just seek out a CM and explain.. they could help you get out sooner. it is really a circular route..not one long line. look on the map of Holywood studios. the lights and decorations are on all of the "streets of America" (near muppets between the star tours area and the car stunt show.

will you be with anyone? is there a way you can rent a wheel chair for the day (I know you don't have mobility issues), but just to use it with maybe a blanket over you (much like parents with autistic children do) to kinda give you your own space, and you can peek out from the blanket when you want.. (I'm thinking kinda like a small "throw" blanket.)

No I will not have anyone with me this trip so a wheel chair will not help ( and because of one of my disabilities I really can not use one with out hurting others). I was thinking week days would be slower and I am good at asking CM for help to get out especially my first night back at the MK after I had not been for 15 years. I will take a look at the map and see if I can figure out where it is.

my husband has macular degeneration. so because of his back issues, I had to push him in a chiar this last trip.. he can't use a motorized chair due to his sight issues. he would run into people. so I feel your pain..
I am glad you aren't hesitant to ask for help.. when you enter the park, go straigh t ahead, then go towards the left, left at echo lake, then right. .star tours on your left. kepp going. just past muppets.

thank you for your encouragement after 5 eye surgery and a lot of other treatment I will always have problems with my vision, but very lucky that it is not worst as I could be blind and I have close to 20/20 vision just other problems. yes I would be running into a lot of people I was very lucky that the time I hurt my foot I had a friend with me and she pushed me the few times I pushed my self I ran into people and there were not a lot of people around to hit I felt so bad I am getting excited as I will be there is just 3 weeks

I've been to the lights many times (sorry to say, we will miss this year, so won't get to see them again. Here are my suggestions/observations.

Since it is the last year, expect it to be very busy every night. Wednesday is probably going to be less busy than Friday because less locals are likely to come on a weekday than a Friday.

The beginning of the viewing time will be much busier than it will be later in the evening. The first hour or so usually will be the very busiest. It's hard to say how/whether being the last year for the lights will affect that. It's possible that it may stay busy for the whole viewing time.

While it's busy, they use the one way process another poster mentioned. They are pretty strict at keeping people moving along. As the crowds thin out, there is more opportunity to stop and they ge a little less strict about direction (so you can backtrack a bit).

I highly suggest you try to enter where it is the widest opening, least crowded and less blinking so that you can take it all in and decide how to proceed from there.

- Magenta outline is where the lights are.
- Blue area is where they set up the dessert party and you can move around most of it.
- If in budget, the dessert party could be a great way for you to enjoy, be slightly removed, have seating and not crowded (fenced).
- Along Streets of America and the small side street heading down to Premiere Theater are where the bulk of the lights are and the busiest.
- Most lights in open area by LMA and Dessert Party are not overwhelming nor major blinking issue.
- Travel to the Dessert Party area either by way of TSMM or down past Muppets, past the busy side street as if you were going to LMA.
- Travel route in is marked by the lighter blue with arrows.
- Do not enter at top by Sci-Fi or Star Tours, it is very tight and crowded and no real escape once in.

Traveling light blue arrow route you will come out in the larger open area, you can see all the way up the street. Maybe stand there for one round of the "looped show" and see how much the lights all flash before entering into the tight area so you will have your bearings and understanding of how it works.

Note: In previous years the side street by Premiere has a roof/awning of lights, it is very cool but you will be surrounded on sides and overhead by lights. I would not enter until you are sure but if so, we enjoy that area, especially the small details on the brownstones.

I don't know if this will help, but here are my experiences with the lights at DHS.

At first, I was reluctant to go to the Osborne Lights because I feared a possible seizure from them. I was happily surprised when they did NOT bother me at all. No health concerns! We went to the lights several times - never had an issue.

It does become crowded - but people will move if asked. I don't think you would feel helplessly trapped.

thanks for the replay I will have three tries to see the lights thursday and friday this trip and then friday on my next trip my next trip I will be with 3 other people one person is in a power wheelchair so if need be I can walk behind him this is how I managed the crowds at F&W when it was crazy and I do mean crazy
