Lifetime Pass-Would you??

I’m not sure, as much as I love Disney I love vacationing in other places and visiting new places also. To me buying a pass for lets say $5000 each I would have to buy 4 of them and $20,000 is a lot of money to me.

I agree it could be pricey. But if you could add that into your DVC purchase I think it would be worth it in the long run. We buy 2 or 4 annual passes most years. We try to schedule at least two trips within that time frame. It would be more upfront, but just think of when you were planning. Hotel paid for, park tickets paid for all you would need to save for is airfare and spending cash.

Yes I would in a heartbeat and I scratch my head and wonder WHY Disney does not offer this. DVC members make up a FRACTION of the crowd Disney gets. So giving us a lifetime pass for a nominal fee would not bankrupt them. What it WOULD do is get us down there every year MULTIPLE times, instead of one time or every other year, and we spend our money in the parks. It would be very easy for Disney to make up the money.

We would have to buy 5 of them. but I would find a way. I bought into DVC, so I have Disney available to me for the next 37 years. The ticket prices will ALWAYS go up. What will I be paying to get in the parks in 20 years?

Right now, it will cost me $1900 to buy my family a Premium Annual pass with the DVC discount. If the passes were $2500, the trips to Disney would be free after 6-7 years. Up until then, you can just look at it as pre-paid.

$5000 probably would not be feasable. A person buying a single pass, it would take 12 years to become clear.

$2500 and they will have people lined up. Not so sure about $5000.

I wouldn't buy for my kids (11 & 14), let them worry about thier own expenses when they get older!:rotfl:

At $2500 I would try to do it! It would only take 6 years to pay for it... and considering I'm on a PAP and going every year, it would be a good investment.

Though they used to give passes out to DVC folk... love the AP discount, but wish I could get the free ones like they once did :p

I know WDW and DVC are two seperate entities. but, Something like this would scratch each other's back, don't you think?

If DVC pushed for WDW to offer this for their members, more members would go more often, putting more greenbacks into the parks. Once word got out that if you owned DVC, you could get these passes, more people would buy into DVC.

There has to be somehting more difficult, that I am not seeing. because it looks like an "everbody wins" situation, so where is it?

Next question would be:

If you are a current DVC member and this was offered, would you increase the number of points you currently own or make more trips to Disney?

That would be awesome. WDW did this when the park first opened, right? Ah the lucky few with those passes!! )

Yes they did, but I heard some people are having a hard time using them, or Disney is giving them grief and saying it has it's limits.

Bump for the afternoon DIS'rs. I'm really curious to see if this would fly.

I don't think this is exactly the right answer, but I would buy a lifetime pass for $2,500.00 if it was just that, lifetime pass to WDW, not all the parks in around the globe, just WDW, with NO connection to DVC. I'd think of it as the Grandaddy of all Annual Passes. Yes, I'd buy one then. Other than that, nope!

I would buy it if it weren't tied to DVC. (not an owner and not planning to be)

I would even fork over the $5000 for it.

i would in a heartbeat-i use my dvc points mostly for tradeout because of the huge outlay park entrances costs (and pap's are not an option cuz we would only travel across the country 1x per year). they could even offer one with blackout periods (like some of the florida residents have access to) cuz we travel in off season anyway.

the advent of the non expiring tickets is great for us, we can buy extra days at a great discount and use them on our next trip.

But don't you think disney already "has" us, as DVC members...we are traveling down there multiple times a year anyways and paying their discounted pass price (which i am very thankful for!) anyways, so why offer us something for less? And they don't need that incentive to sell DVC since it is selling faster than they can make them. If by some miracle, they ever DID come up with such a concept, i would at least get one for myself since i go down there more than anyone else in the family (girls trips, etc.) :earsgirl:
