Are you talking about a life vest for the pools on the DCL? First, is your child potty trained? Second, the Mickey pool is very shallow and you will need to be right there next to your child while they are in the pool. The Goofy pool is deeper and way to busy for a 2 year old to even be in - IMHO.

No he isnt potty trained so I know he can't be in anything other than the little kiddie area. However, on the beach I feel like I should bring one.. It only takes a split second for something to happen and I rather be safe than sorry.

Puddle Jumpers are awesome. I was skeptical until I went to a beach resort last year and it seemed that half the little kids were wearing them. The kids still had great movement of their arms and didn't seem bogged down by the vest. I saw many little ones jump into the pool and pop right back up head first. We bought one for DS to use at CC. I didn't want to take any chances.

Thankfully, there are no waves at CC to knock down children. You might want to check; I thought Disney had life jackets available. But not 100% sure.

I just saw Puddle Jumpers here at my local Costco. Just a thought...

Puddle Jumpers all the way!
We have a boat, so we know our life jackets. Puddle Jumpers became Coast Guard approved last year, so that means kids can wear them on the boat. The reason we love the Puddle Jumpers, is because it keeps the kids head out of water & on the tummy easier, helping to teach kids to stay afloat while kicking & swimming, whereas on kids backs they are really unable to move around. It has given our 2 year old last year the confidence to jump in readily & feel safe. They have much more control of their bodies, arms, torsos etc. all while still be safe & unable to be under water for a long period of time.
Of course, when we are IN the boat they are allowed to wear their jumpers, but if we get in a lake FROM the boat, we make them put on their full size jackets. But pools & beaches wo huge waves....Puddle Jumpers!
:thumbsup2

Life vests are provided at Castaway Cay at no charge. You don't need to be going on an official excursion. They give them to you for the beach. They are located in the same building as the tube rentals. My DS are 2 & 5. They had different sizes.

Sorry to hi jack the post, but do they have life vests on the boats? I have 3 kids who will be 3-6 yr old when we cruise ( on the wonder), and I get nervous in the water with them

Do you mean on the ship? Yes they do. In your cabin there will be an age appropriate life vest in the closet for each person registered in the room for emergencies. During the muster drill they ask you to confirm u have the correct sizes and to tell your host if you don't.

Do you mean for use in the pools? No. The pools aren't that deep (or large, for that matter). They do have the "regular" Coast Guard type of life jackets for use if there is an emergency.

I wonder if I should bring ours... At the beach or anytime they are in water is feel better. Currently all 3 are non swimmers. I hate to take up that room packing them though (flying from WI)

We use the Puddlejumper for our almost 3 year old son, he loves it.

We got ours at our local Target.

We use puddle jumpers as well. They are coast guard approved. Our kids have no problems wearing them because the can still swim in them.
