Life is too short... take time to enjoy it!

I don't think the OP meant that everyone needs to go out and spend money or that everyone needs a time share. The OP just wanted to remind people to stop and smell the roses so to speak, and then thought he would share how he and his DW are doing it. For them, it is vacations and their DVC membership. It is something different for every person.

Great post OP! I hope you have a wonderful 2011! Sounds like you're off to a perfect start!

Last year this time I was laughing and playing Wii Fit with my favorite aunt. I lost her to cancer in July.

I never even contemplated life without her. :sad1: She grew up in the same home with me, like a sister.

She planned several trips last year, visiting family and doing things she never did before. We found out when she got back that she had known her diagnosis before she left.

She was happy and funny till the day she died.

She truly seized the day! :thumbsup2

That was my dad. He died last May at the age of 85 but we all agree we absolutely loved how he passed. My brother was home with him, the night he died, he had a Jack Daniels on the rocks, watched the Yankees on TV, decided to have a lobster tail for dinner and then passed in his sleep. He was never sick (except for some arthritis) and went to the senior citizen center every weekend. We used to tease him about being a great catch because he was a wealthy widower with benefits. ;) Up until he died he loved to travel.

I agree that OP was not telling us to go spend and buy lots of stuff:confused:

Her way of living life to the fullest is spending more time with her family at a special place and not sweating the costs so much.

Living for today is a great mantra...and it doesn't mean we are throwing our future to the wind or irresponsible...as I feel this way too

OP - I completely understand and how each person lives to the fullest is different...but I agree on all those who save and save and talk about dreams and never fulfill them - such as a trip to Europe or California?? you know...dreams and fulfilling them.

It is ok to spend today and the world doesn't end if you do;)

You just can't take for granted that you or your loved ones will always be here

I lost my younger brother (he was 30) :sad1: 3 years and 20 days ago...yes at Christmas time....so this time of year is especially hard on our family...

and I truly believe life is short and you should experience every day to its fullest and you should indulge yourself every once in a while...it's freeing:flower3:

Thanks for that OP, sometimes I need a little reminder, you are totally right:thumbsup2

If all OP was saying is enjoy today cause yo udon't know what tomorrow will bring I totally 100% agree and try to live each day like that. I may have read into it along with reading the following posts which made me see it differently and if I ws wrong, I am sorry. Truth is maybe I am a little jealous, I'd love to be able to enjoy those things, but the good news is yo ucan enjoy life without the extras (though I am sure they are pretty fun!)
