Life insurance?

Weird thing going on with work life insurance. We are staying with the same company, but going from a yearly policy to 10 yrs to save the COMPANY money. And now we have to do the whole interview/swab test thing. I do not understand WHY. If I have had this ins. for TEN years, can they deny me based on recent health problems?

if it's a group policy and you're a member of the group, chances are you can't be denied coverage because of medical concerns. more likely they're taking the medical histories, etc. in order to calculate the appropriate premium for the group.

but...it sounds to me like they're not simply modifying existing coverage, and that what they're doing is issuing a new policy. once they terminate a life insurance policy, there's no obligation to issue a new policy.
