Life Changing Books

I'm glad someone enjoyed it. It disgusted me and don't get me started on the author.

Yeeesh, am I the only one who just did get into The Five People You Meet in Heaven?? I finished it and said, "Ooooooookay."

For me, the Bible was and is a life changing book.

I've never read The Purpose Driven Life, could you tell me why you didn't like it? Just curious.

Not life changing, but I really enjoyed the new Mitch Albom book "One More Day". I cried. It's an easy read and an interesting premise. The main character is given one more day with his mom.

I agree. I read it while waiting in a doctor's office. It was an easy read, but enjoyable and a nice premise.

For a number of reasons.

He picks and chooses his Bible translations to suit the point he is trying to make. He often manipulates Scripture to fit his needs.

It focused a lot on "going through the motions spiritually" rather than having a relationship with God. It is also simplistic.

And like I mentioned, I have issues with the author, so that's a big reason I couldn't take the book seriously.
