life boat locations

Ok, so this has probably been discussed a million times, but I couldn't find a thread in the search...

Where exactly are the life boats, which deck/rooms are they outside of?? do they "block" a particular rooms view to the outside?

I'm beginning my research for (my first ever) next year's cruise and I'm trying to figure out which deck I want to try to book a room on. I'm totally confused as to which deck/category is what, so I'm trying to sort that info out. I'm going to order the new passporter, and hopefully that will shed some light on my questions.

The only rooms that are obstructed by lifeboats are the "secret porthole" category 10 staterooms on Deck 5. These are classified as INSIDE staterooms and considered a great bargain as they are actually just obstructed view staterooms with a porthole. No other outside staterooms have a view obstructed by lifeboats. Thse secret porthole rooms are 5020, 5022, 5024, 5520, 5522 and 5524.

It lists all the deck plans and which categories are on each deck. That should also help your out.

that helps a lot with my questions... We want a verandah, so I guess, I'm leaning towards deck 7 or 8 from what I can figure out...
