When we sailed on the Wonder we had to stand outside in the HOT sun  while my parents got to sit in the air conditioned theater. By the end of the thing I was dripping with sweat and felt faint.

We will be cruising again this year and I would like to know ahead of time where we will have to go for the drill. Do they keep the locations the same for the cabins? If anyone has been in Magic cabin 2102 where did you go for the drill?

We were not your cabin, but very close (2080, I think) in August and we had to meet on deck 4 ..... Andy

When you say deck 4, do you mean outside?

Yes, deck 4 will be outside.....Andy

We have been in 2108 2x's and 2114 this year. You go to deck 4 outside - but the good news is that it's shaded from the sun at that time of day in August when we go. I really didn't mind the heat - but then tha's why we go to Florida in August.

Does anyone know who goes to the theaters, restaurants, and decks? For instance, does everyone on Deck 2 go to Deck 4, everyone on Deck 5 go to the theater, etc. ?

The times that we have been aft, (on Deck 6 & 5) we met in Animators. The one time we were mid-ship, we met on Deck 4. I always assumed it was aft in Animators; midship on Deck 4 and forward in the theater.

Okay..that makes sense! ;) Now to figure out if I'm aft or mid ship! LOL!!! We're in 6108, looks like I could be borderline.

Hey NYDIsneyMom: I replied on the other thread, so if this is a repeat for you, sorry. When I had family members in 6113-6107, and we were in 6613, we all assembled outside on Deck 4.

To answer part of your question, yes, the lifeboat stations never change for a specific cabin, since that assignment is on the permanent sign in the cabin.
I'm sure if you contact Disney Cruise Line they could tell you.

tvguy, I can't believe I didn't think of that. Of course the lifeboat stations stay the same. They aren't going to change the signs in the cabins all the time. I guess if I would have thought about it a little more it would have come to me. LOL

On our last cruise we were in cabin 2554 and our station was outside. My parents were in 2558 and they were in the theater.

I don't see how 2558 could be considered aft. It's RIGHT next to the midship elevators.

I guess I'm going to have to deal with it either way. I'm just one of those people who has to know everything and have everything planned, if at all possible.

We were just in Cabin 5150 (as far aft as you can get) on the Magic and we had drill in Animator's.

We were on deck 2 aft on the Magic and met in Animators. I was expecting to go outside, so it was a pleasant surprise!

The locations never change and are posted on the back of your door as well as on your life vest. The cast members check your life vests to make sure you are going in the right direction. I think it's marked with the assembly station number, which is how they can tell.

To avoid standing in the hot sun for too long, try to show up right at 4:00 rather than going too early.

Have a great trip!
