We are huge Poly fans, however with all the impending changes and construction we are thinking of staying somewhere else next trip, then trying Poly again when it is all done. We are very sad about this, but want to keep our memories of how it is now intact and just start new when it is done. I am thinking of the contporary or WL. We have small kids and grandparents with us so being close to Mk is a must. We are also thinking of renting DVC points perhaps for BLT? Any ideas on this? We love WL, prob would just do 2 connecting rooms there. I guess I am asking what people think would be the best for a clean break from the poly :( but not too much of a shock for us, love the transportation options that the poly offers.......help

We also love the Poly, so we understand.

We recently stayed at both WL and BLT. They are just different vacations. It depends on what you want, but either is far enough from Poly.

Loved being able to walk to MK from BLT. But we enjoy the theming more at WL and we also love the boat trip to MK.

It's really personal preference. I could go either way.

Good luck!:thumbsup2

I would go with the Contemporary or BLT. The transportation isn't as good, but it is closer to the level of the Poly. The Poly is my favorite and CR is DH's, so we go from one to the other.

We were a long time Poly family until the arrival of our 3rd child which made even the large rooms in the Poly seem tight. For us home is now BLT but the Poly will always be special to us. As others have suggested BLT or the CR might be a good option for you.

I hear you with the impending changes to the Polynesian, we love the Poly and the changes just would make the resort more crowded. We have stayed at the Wilderness Lodge twice and loved it, but the one thing that makes me think that the Contemporary might be better than the Polynesian is the transportation. With the Contemporary you are one monorail stop from the TTC which makes getting to Epcot easy, and you can walk to the Magic Kingdom. The same would go for BLT, with the Wilderness Lodge you would be relying on buses to get to the other parks or a boat to the MK. We loved the Polynesian because of the ease of transportation, we rented a car and only used it to get to other hotels or DHS/AK.

We are very mixed about what to do. DH loves the Poly, the resort is a huge part of our vacation. I just dont think he will be happy at the cont. I also think we will miss the access to monorail that the poly gave us if we go to WL. This is such a PIA I wish they would just leave it(Poly) be. I guess I am going to have to keep up with the construction schedule at the Poly and see what will be during our planned vacation. I am not happy that they are changing sooo much. One building for DVC would be ok, the plans I see are too much, I think it will mess up the calm, relaxing feel of the resort. Oh well, thanks for the input!

We are huge Poly fans too but I strongly dislike the Contemporary. Just not my vibe. Too Jetsons/modern for me. We have stayed at WL and liked it a lot. The seclusion of the resort was lovely and the boat ride to MK very nice. I'm wondering what it is specifically about the poly that you love so much (other than the transportation options)? If it's about the tropical feel than Caribbean Beach might work well. I think we will be trying Animal Kingdom Lodge next stay. I think there are similarities to the Poly in the overall vibe and my kids will love it. Let us know what you decide!

Love everything about poly, pool area, tim at the bar, whole feel. I think DH will hate Cont but the trasnportation will be so much easier for us then WL

I too love Poly, but I needed to try more resorts (still have yet to stay at CR) but I loved staying at WL as much as I loved Poly the only downside to WL is the no monorail. I would really love to stay at BLT if I could find enough money for me to do so, but with my current job there is no way I could afford it since I go every year. But I think that WL after Poly is a great choice that wont be regretted.
