Life’s too short...to never sleep in a treehouse! 8/27 TR is up! Link in siggie

Those look excellent!! I know those who might use them will be really appreciative- and that's a good feeling to have! IT would be way too hard to pick a favorite; they are all really snazzy!

We have TONS of friends in various 4H projects- mostly home ec. stuff or small animals. It really helps a lot with confidence building as well as personal presentation, organizational skills, and is fun to boot.

I agree, getting the FPs would have been sweet, but I think you're right, they will be better used as tickets for your Anaheim trip.

As a city girl I was always fascinated by 4H and will really enjoy learning more. Though I did a lot of home ec it just wasn't something I was exposed to at all.

I'm having way too much fun making more...I really need to go take down my tree and get out of my jammies!

I loved the designs Cynthia !!!

Thanks Rosie! One more hee hee

I like this latest one.

Oooo.....you should make one more, of Monsters Inc., and arrange it so Mike W's (how do you spell wisowski?) head is cut off. (That was a joke from the movie -- if you remember, at the end he was on the cover of a magazine, but even then his head got blocked).

Hi Kathy!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks! They've been a lot of fun though I did play way too much this morning on Pipers design lol. Great to "see" you over here. It's about half down now. Now I have to figure out how to get everything back in all the boxes but am running to the gym to escape it for a bit.

I'm actually planning to do a Monsters one, I have the Monsters font, it's very cool! Like the idea of cutting off Mike's head!

Hmmmm..........;)

yup. Any word (s). I take requests. :goodvibes

You did a great job on those DISigns! What a nice way to spread some pixie dust with both the DISigns and the volunteer day. :flower3:

I love your Wishes designs! I can't pick a fav. I can't wait to see our Miss Piper in one of your designs! Good for you on teaching your boys about something new and about giving back! I'm sure you've already done the giving before, but it will be a good reminder for them.

Welcome back Tammie! How was Texas?

I keep messing with hers lol. I think I'm done though so I'll show them after I ship them off maybe late next week.

We have done giving things before, they don't always seem to resonate that much but every once in a while something "sticks" so we will see. It's not as giving (to someone in need) as much as I'd like but it should be fun an interesting.

On the split stay, Sandie wants to be at the YC the whole time. THV would be less. Quite a bit. But it's ok. I figure we are celebrating her birthday as well as Kendall's and they are in heaven. Actually the boys are just as excited about it as the rest of us.

I did look at doing THV instead of HRH assuming those were Universal days but the savings, once we rent a car is only about $300. The town car is less than a rental because we'd need a minivan. We'll do a 2 leg trip, MCO to HRH with a stop at the grocery store and then HRH to the YC. We'll take ME back to MCO for the last leg. That will run us $124. A minivan for the 3 days runs us $300-$500 depending on who we go with so it eats up a lot of the hotel savings not to mention the addition of the parking cost.

Still, $300 is a lot but Jeff

1. Doesn't want to rent a car and deal with driving (and I think the parking at US is $25 a day so the savings comes down to $225).
2. Wants the fast pass benefits that come with staying at the HRH.
3. Wants to be able to walk to US/IOA/Citywalk (aka Margaritaville!)
4. Is really set on HRH for Taylor & Kendall, they are very excited about it. So is Evan for that matter.

I figure we will stay in the Treehouses for Evan's 13th and Peepfest! Assuming I can pull that off. Since it IS Evan's dream resort and all, I feel I must. Of couse that means 2 years later I will HAVE to stay at BLT...for Eric's 13th!

Sad isn't it if I'm using their 13th bdays to justify trips. Too bad it didn't occur to me when K&T turned 13! Oh well, K's is belated. Really it's more of a "last summer with T before graduation" trip then a K's 14th but we'll just celebrate all of it!

I do find Jeff's logic on HRH a little funny though.I'd prefer to use our give a day vouchers for the fast pass options for the August trip, he wants to use them for the DCA day in April! But since I'm getting a partial, and very unexpected, Disney (and SUN) fix in April, I'm going along with it!

I'll admit, I'm pretty excited to stay there too, I just wish they had a suite that worked instead of 2 rooms. Being a family of 6 is a real pain sometimes!

I feel the same way about renting a car. I love the idea of a vacation that doesn't involve worrying about driving.

The fastpass benefits at HRH are definitely worth it. You'll get to maximize your time at US/IOA.

Since you have those two 13th birthday trips in the near future, are you considering DVC?

Love your designs :goodvibes

Oooo...I like all your designs but especially your 7th one...in red with the classic characters and I love the new Toy Story one...

So sorry about all your school drama...we have it going on here too sigh...our teachers are great but the administration and the district policies...:confused3...

Seriously thinking about putting David in an independent school...Em is already in one and I'm think it may be time for David too...we will be so cash strapped though but we'll have to see how things go...:confused3

Thanks!

We had a car for 2 days last time so Jeff could go fly and it was more hassle than it was worth in many ways. We'd both be happy to not deal with driving at all!

DVC is definitely on the table at some point. Right now the plane is our DVC :rotfl: but it makes a lot of sense for us. Financially it isn't an option now but hopefully it will be over the next couple of years. I'd love to have it by June of 2012 for Evan's 13th. Our problem is that we keep saving for other trips and can't really save for both and have zero interest in financing anything so....we will see! A lot will depend on my job situational.

The red one is one they had that I just recreated and updated so I can't take any credit for it lol. I might make another verision in another color though or with some different characters, that one is super easy to change with different characters and colors.

If the hi-cap program actually got canceled I would probably have to look at private for Eric and I really don't want to go there financially! Hopefully it will continue to surrvive the state budget cuts. I don't know though, I think there is as many politics and issues in the private schools, my sister had horrible experiences at 2 of them so I'm not sure it's much of a solutions, just trading for different problems.

I am soooo behind. Thank goodness for links. I do enjoy chatter though...I love the Wish designs. Very cool, ok going back to read.

Alrighty, all caught up. Used the links for fall then starting reading in Jan.
I am so happy about your FIL-what a miracle!
Hope volleyball is going well for Kendall
Glad to read you had some fun trips!

Your Ca trip sounds great. My Hubby is from Long Beach and we were just there for Christmas. Schooner or Later is a favorite and his parents live in Belmont Shore. We did do DTD one aft but it made me sad and I just wanted to go to DL.

I am sorry to hear about the school drama. My ODD is being tested for gifted in the spring. We were going to do fall but it turns out they do not do anything in K for gifted. And they suggest waiting since K's are not great test takers. It is a little frustrating since there are a few listening issues coming up since she has troublepaying attention reviewing letters when she is reading chapter books. I will be curious to see what happens and am glad there are teachers-gifted ones at that on this thread.

So happy to be caught up, love your writing style and can't wait to hear whats next.

Finally took my own tree down yesterday, and put all the decorations I want to take home in a separate box. Everything (ie. cheap to replace) went in a "for sale" box. Very strange to be in this place again.

AT some point, I think the TC3 will put in a special order. ;)

Happy to have you back! Jeff is so excited for his "galley mess" at Schooner or Later it's rather cute. That and 2 different candy stores...Sweet Jill's (I think?) and somewhere else.

I'm going to try not to be sad about DL. I am getting some DTD, DCS and Knott's and some far warmer weather than we will have here in Seattle in April plus WDW in August so all things considered I'm doing great! Jeff says he's on the every 3 years plan so I figure that getting in a Cal trip and FL in an 18 month time frame...I'm doing pretty good!

We have a lot of gifted teachers on this thread, it's been wonderful to hear everyone's take and perspective from the teaching standpoint. I didn't realize how many until I started venting! I am in awe of what they do.

We don't test in our district until 1st so they start in 2nd...seems to be about the standard in our state as I have nephews and nieces in similar programs in other districts. I will say, to be brutally honest, we didn't have a clue Eric was gifted. We thought he was stubborn...and/or lazy. It was his K teacher who pointed out no...he's a perfectionist. He wouldn't be where he is if it weren't for her and that observation. As parents it set us on a totally different path with him.

The TC3 better! And that's all I have to say about that.

:goodvibes

And just think Liesa. Next year you can do a real tree! I can smell it now.....

Get this!!! If I really get to move into the Lower Lincoln house, there are skads of Cedars and firs and hemlocks to make my own garlands. Smell that!! :cloud9: There is a white split rail fence all the way around; can you picture it?? Garlands with white lights and big red bows at each post??? OK, I'm sounding like a regular Martha now... :lmao:

I agree about financing DVC. It's better just to save the money and pay it all, no interest. One thing that's holding me back from DVC is not being able to stay at the Poly, CR, or GF. The monorail is so convenient.
My brother has a Starwood timeshare on Paradise Island and I could use that to stay at the Swan or Dolphin. But it's just not the same.

Hello:)

I just caught myself up on all 84 pages of your trip report! I can't believe how much you have planned so far in advance! I'm sure that makes it even harder to wait fro your trip.

Can't wait to read more and see what ADR's you get!

Love the Dis signs - very nice. I think that's great that you are volunteering to get your DCA tickets. Very smart. Don't feel bad about not using them for FP's. I think that is a great idea. All the volunteer opportunities around me are at a hospital for the chronically ill. I just can't bring myself to sign up. I am around sick people all the time. I need a different type of opportunity!

aren't you fancy, making your own garlands!

Makes me miss the holly tree I had at my old house.

Last time I tried to channel my inner Martha, I made a valentines wreath from her magazine. Heart shaped and you glued red pistachios all over it. It was adorable.

It was NOT however meant to be an outside wreath. At least in Feb, in Illinois! It was SO gold that every time we shut the door, pistachios fell off

I put cedar garland up my railings and along our white balconies....no red bows though, just lights. Love the look1

But true on the GF and the Poly. We could use my FIL's time share for Swan or Dolphin too. It isn't the same.

Ugh, A lot of the "adult" ones in my area were for some rather depressing things too, not much that I could do with the kids. Keep checking it does seem to change quite a bit quickly!

One more.....

Fancy? I don't know. Maybe more anal than anything else. They are not easy, and every year, I think it's going to get easier! :lmao: yeah, pretty dumb!

Right now, I'm still putting ideas together for our window decorations for POR. Some things are coming together, but others I'll have to wait for until I can get to a JoAnn's or Michaels.
