My DH has 2 PhD students at the momen it who are both from Libya.
The first is fortunate that his family is with him at the moment. He has known no other ruler, but previously did not speak badly of Gaddafi. Now his view is that his people must have done something very bad as G-d is punishing the people through Gaddafi's actions and that Gaddafi must be stopped.
The second has his wife & family still in Libya as she had a preemie baby and he thought it was better for them to be in the care of her family ??? Well they are in an area that is not stable. There is a US$10,000 price on the head of anybody outside on curfew and the mercenaries do not care of your reasons.
Last I heard they had 2 weeks of milk left and the baby had a fever.
