Saw this in the SSR FAQ:

"The Library Lounge includes a bar with wood finishes and granite tops, tables for playing games (checkers, backgammon), a seating area with two couches and two chairs framed around an armoire holding a large-screen TV, and a pool table with surrounding high tables with stools and a nice armoire that serves as storage for the pool cues and balls."

Does anyone know whether this is still happening? Perhaps any of the folks recently back from WDW who attended a member meeting? Haven't heard much about it lately. Sounds like a very pleasant hangout. I think that this and the pool bar will be very popular!

Pathetic, shameless bump.

So no one here knows anything about this?

Well HappyRebster....since you & I are the only two that care about this, I'll meet you at the pool bar. Then we'll retreat to the Library Lounge.:earsboy:

Er, can I use the remote control for the big screen?

Only if you're up for a game of pool! Ah well. It looks like a nice place in my imagination; but I can't find reference to it in any of the sales materials.  Maybe I'll go home and read my contract to see if it is mentioned there. If so, I'll let you know!

Sounds like a wonderful amenity! I wonder if this is in addition to a Community Hall type space?

Found this in the Member Clubhouse archives on the website, from the July issue. There was also a drawing of what the room looks like, but I couldn't paste it here:

Another space that will quickly become a Guest favorite is what Jacki refers to as "The Library Lounge" (an official name hasn't yet been finalized). In this room, a console appears to be built into one of the walls, with a framed mirror placed overhead. However, this is no ordinary mirror, says Jacki: "The mirror splits in half and opens up to a nice bar with wood finishes and granite tops." While there is no seating at this bar (the console top functions as a service area only), there are plenty of places to sit and enjoy your favorite beverage.

"The library has three tables you can play games at, or just sit and talk. There's also a seating area with two couches and two chairs, framed around an armoire holding a large-screen TV," says Jacki. "There's also a pool table. Near that, we're going to have some high tables with stools and a nice armoire that serves as storage for the pool cues and balls." Vintage game boards will be hung along the wall on each side of the armoire, sure to spark some lively conversation.

Cool! I checked out that Member Clubhouse.

Let's see if I can link to the picture...

Thanks so much for tracking down this info! That's wonderful! I am so excited! It sounds very charming. :p

I can't wait to get to SSR!! Only a few more weeks now!!

:bounce: :bounce:

Renamed The Turf Club, it is mentioned on the new DVC website! It's real! And does it sound wonderful! I love horseracing. I love hanging out at "real" turf clubs -- so I know the Disney version will be even better!! Wahoo!!! :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

Glad you found that info...I went looking for the lounge and came up with nothing...but now I see that it is renamed. Excellent!
I was looking at the map of the resort, same map as I've seen before in the mailings, but does the scale of the map seem out of whack? Maybe it's jus me, but the actual buldings that will be first to open look like a air walk away...just a scale issue?
Very excited about the new site!!! We're all registered!
:hyper:

KK -- Indeed, the first phase will be the buildings directly across from DTD and they are a bit of a walk from the registration, main pool and spa. Not far, though. I like the scale. Looks like we could swim to PI! :teeth:
