Which would you guys suggest for my DS 3 that loves Goofy?

Please take into account which has better food too*S*

I would suggest Chef Mickey's on the food selection alone. Also, Goofy meets and greets everyone as they arrive @ the restaurant. You also have a family photo taken before the meal which is optional to purchase. Lots of fun and a lively party atmosphere.

I'd go to Chef Mickey's! LTT is more like t.v. dinner food! The atmosphere is so fun at CM and the food is good too!

Chef Mickey's My personal favorite restaurant in Disney! So much fun and All great food. and The Mashed Potatoes are UMM

I like both! It might also be important to you that Chef Mickey's is a buffet & Liberty Tree is served at the table family style. Character interaction is great at both! Why not do both? Liberty Tree during the day you'll be at MK. Chef Mickey's on your arrival day. That might be an idea.

We're the minority usually on this opinion, but I'll give it anyway. ;) We were not impressed with CM's. It was fine, but we don't care for the atmosphere and the food was just ok. We love LTT, and find the opinion of the food being frozen food to be strange. We think it's yummy southern home-cooked tasting food. Again, we are the minority in this opinion, but we love LTT, and are about to go back again in the fall for the 4th time. CM's, we did once several years ago and have not been motivated to return. There was nothing wrong with it, it just wasn't special to us as it is to most people.

I'm with Sunny04 --

The food was horrible at CM's. The only thing we ended up eating was the sundae bar. We were seated in a side section of the dinner and we barely got to see the characters. The section we sat in was full of windows from top to bottom and in October it was still HOT HOT HOT. We couldn't wait to get out of there we were so uncomfortable.

I personally will never go back. We're trying LTT this time. All in all, I don't think the meals are the best at character dinners. At least that's our experience. Definitely seem to be in the minority here but that's my 2 cents worth. Maybe the breakfast is better than the dinner.

I have to agree with Sunny and Stitches (well maybe more I'm hoping since our first dinner at LTT is next month...lol...:lmao:)-the idea of Goofy and Minnie in Colonial Garb is too cute...

As a disclaimer I've found Chef Mickey's , um a little overrated foodwise...:confused3 and while I know a lot of people love the festive atmosphere- I find it loud...also I'm not a huge fan of the Contemporary...although that being said I do have reservations for a meal at the California Grill...;)

But I also liked Donald's at the AK and Ohana's Lilo and Stitch at the Poly neither of which make most people's top list...;)

While I've never had horrrible food at any character meal I do think the whole experience is the overriding experience so you should choice based on the characters and atmosphere you want....

Chef Mickey's is considered the more popular, loud and festive with a buffet and is in the Contemporary,
LTT is more intimate, family style(served at table) and in the Magic Kingdom...

and remember you'll probably have a great time which ever your choice as long as you don't stress, enjoy the experience you are having and don't second guess yourself and wish you were at the other place...

Have a blast.....:goodvibes

Patricia

I also agree with sunny, stitches, and Patricia! I don't know if we will ever go back to CMs, but we have LTT planned once again for our upcoming trip. ::yes::

 I've never had so many people agree with me!:rotfl: We aren't very into the Contemporary either, but most poeple love it!

One other thing that might make a difference, since you mentioned your child loves Goofy. Goofy doesn't come around at CMs I don't think. When we were there (and when we've been at Concourse we could see it was the same) Goofy just stands at the entrance to take photos with the families, so you don't have the same interaction that you would at LTT. I'm also not sure if he is ALWAYS at CMs?? But at LTT, he is one of the regulars. In case that matters.

Another vote for LTT. We love the atmosphere, the character interaction, and the food. It's on our must-do list each time.

We did not like CM's and will not return.

I completely agree with this and everyone else voting for LTT!!! I couldn't have been more disappointed in CM, however I couldn't have been more pleased with LTT!! My DGF and I both eat ourselves to death and had a great time. I can't say that about CM, I found the food choices to be very limited but the character interaction was ok, but you get the same character interaction at LTT.

I was not thrilled with CM's either. I love Liberty Tree and so does my family. I would go there over CM's. But... with a 3 year old, I might want CM's. It is loud and kind of fun for kids. I think they may have a separate food section for little ones. Liberty Tree is Turkey, ham, beef, dressing, and the fixings. I don't know if they have a children's menu. I think the characters are only at Liberty Tree at the dinner hour.

I honestly like both but if I had to choose one over the other it would be LTT:thumbsup2 The atmosphere and characters are great! I really like the food as well. And I prefer family style service over a buffet:) IMO it's easier to relax and you feel like you have had a break from the frenzy of MK.

Go to Chefs, service great, character interaction was fantastic and the food was excellent. We went to Liberty, service was extremely bad after 1 serving never saw the waiter Hugh till he threw our dessert on the table, some all you can eat.Characters were ok but rushed thru I would do Mickeys in a flash

This year will be our 4th visit to LTT. We love it there- the food is very good and the characters are great too. We've never been to CM's and I don't think we ever will. I don't think you will be disappointed with LTT.

I have to agree we love LTT. Good food, and the characters are great! We are trying CM this trip.

We have been to CM for breakfast and LOVED the food and characters, good service! Went to LTT this last trip in June and will never go back- the food was terrible- yes it was like a frozen tv dinner- and the service was the worst I have ever had at Disney. The dessert was the best part of the meal- I ate it all because my DD6 did not like it.

we loved liberty tree tavern-- we acutally went there twice on our last trip and we are picky eaters-- and we got pictures with goofy and chip and dale. It was delicious and a very nice environment too. Its different being served family style as well and nice -- i have never been to chef mickeys so i have nothing to compare-- enjoy:)
