Liberty Tree Tavern for lunch is a must for us. We prefer this meal to the dinner offered there. Our meal was nearly perfect! We started with that wonderful Declaration Salad with strawberry vinaigrette. DH, older sons and I all ordered the cider cured salmon on griddled pumpkin bread with butternut vinaigrette. Last year I came back from WDW raving about this dish which was a special offering at that time. I mentioned that to our server and he said it was such a success they made it a regular feature on the menu. That makes us VERY happy. What a wonderful entree this is! I can't say that the quality of the salmon is the same as the Alaskan Salmon we had a Fulton's, but combined with the pumpkin bread and sauce the combination of tastes is just fabulous, to our way of thinking! This meal was on our first day at the parks so my foggy brain can't remember the names of our desserts but I do remember them being very good! The adult desserts are too small for sharing. DS and I did try sharing some kind of chocolate cake with raspberry sauce and ice cream. It was awesome! (Just too small!) I think DH and 15 year old shared some kind of a bread pudding dessert with a bourbon sauce???? I know they just loved it. The rolls here are sweet and delicious. The service is excellent! I love the Colonial American atmosphere. (Take a walk from room to room to see what famous American is featured. The theming is wonderful!) The service was top notch!

The younger kids enjoyed their meals immensely! The rice crispy American flag dessert that they get to decorate themselves is a real hit and makes for a terrific photo!
This meal is probably as close as I'm going to come to choosing an all around favorite meal this trip. I have just had too hard of a time making up my mind! While other restaurants excelled at appetizers or desserts they all seemed to fail in some category (in my mind). Liberty Tree Tavern was the only place that was excellent in EVERY category.

Thanks for sharing - Haven't tried this entree, think it will be on my list for trying in October.

Sounds divine - never been here for lunch but I think I can fit it in when I visit in December ;) Can't wait to try that entree as long as nothing else on the menu tempts me away from it !!

I've always loved the Liberty Tree Tavern. I think their lunch menu is terrific. The restaurant is a nice respite from the crowds. I can't wait to go back! Thanks for the review! :)

Thank you for reviewing this restaurant! I am going to try the salmon sandwhich at LTT!

The Liberty Tree Tavern is one of my favorite lunch spots at WDW. Everything we have had there over the years has been very good. The service is always great and it is cool and usually fairly quiet. What a pleasant place to eat on a hot day.

Note: All A ratings were given to superior gourmet food. A+’s were only given to food that actually made us make noises of joy. In my roommates’ case, anything that made her cry (in a good way) got an A+. Above average, very respectable food received B ratings. C’s were average food that was a cut above McDonalds. D ratings are of the processed, fast food variety and F’s are things that I would not feed my dog.

NOISE LEVEL - Moderate. Not too bad for a restaurant in the Magic Kingdom.
KIDS - Lots but no disturbances that we heard.
ATMOSPHERE - A rustic colonial Inn. They call your name and state when you are seated – The Sargent Family from the Colony of Virginia…. However it depends who is sitting you. We did not get announced. Humph.
COST - Moderate $

Maryland Crab Cakes - A pan-seared Blue Crab cake on fire-roasted corn succotash and Bay tarter - $7.25 (B+)
Nice, a very respectable crab cake.

New England Pot Roast - Braised beef in burgundy wine & mushroom sauce with mashed potatoes and a garden vegetable - $12.75 (C+)
Not a bad pot roast. It was good but not wonderful. I could make a better pot roast at home. Veggies like celery, carrots and potatoes stewed with the meat would improve this a great deal. The side dish veggies were a tad salty.

"Two if by Sea" - Buttermilk batter-fried shrimp on Vermont cheddar grits with Martha's bacon greens - $16.95 (C+)
OK, this was not horrid but yet again, my last lunch before getting on the plane and I pick another off note. While the shrimp was large and tasty, the grits (the sole reason I ordered this dish) were not only thinly spread on the bottom of the plate (not much of a serving) but were Soooooo salty! Shades of Tuskers. What is with the Mouse and SALT?! Now I must say that our waiter fretted over what do to and offered to bring me rice. Then the manager fretted because I wasn’t eating much after they brought the rice. I had them box it and I ate it on the plane. This is a case of trying to make things right but the cook should have been shot or at least made to eat this whole pot of salty grits.

Apple Cobbler with Vanilla Ice Cream - $5 (A-)
YUMMY!!!! Very nice! I took this for the plane ride as well. The apples were firm. Not mushy, not too hard.

Star-Spangled Spectacular - Our own frozen Specialty Drink served in a Liberty Tree Collector's Mug - $7.95 (A-)
It’s like a frosty blended orange/creamcicle with a souvenir glass you can keep. Very nice.

Love that salad, too. I agree that lunch here is tons better than dinner. Have always loved the atmosphere.

What an unusual combination in the salmon dish. Thanks for the review.

You are right...Liberty Tree Tavern for lunch is excellent!

I just wish they would serve breakfast...we attended and event at disney which included breakfast at LTT...the breakfast was spectacular. The chef at LTT is very talented.

Went to the database here, and it looks like it needs updating on LTT. Would you choose this over CRT for lunch? I've heard it's a good place to be just before the 3pm parade! (Which we never seem to make.)

I much prefer the food here over CRT. The menu at CRT is fairly small and not very inspiring for me and the foods I have had have been okay but not great. The setting at CRT is really good though.

Darn. LTT was the only PS I had to cancel during my trip last week. Oh well. There's always September!

Wow! I want to try the salmon. (I have salmon marinating at this very minute for my dinner tonight - YUM!)

I have never been to LTT, but it is now a must for my October trip!

This was the first restaurant I ever ate at in WDW... many years ago before there was a character dinner. I haven't been back since:o ... not because I didn't like (It was wonderful) There's just so many restaurants and so little time;)

I plan on eating here again in December after all these years, and can't decide on L or D.

You know what? Think I'll go post a poll on that:D Thanks!

I LOVE the salad dressing. We ate at LTT for dinner last july and really enjoyed it, we are going back there this year. Never ate here for lunch sounds yummy. For desert i had cake with fresh berries YUM.
