Liberty Tree Tavern vs. Crystal Palace

This vote is for CP. The food at LTT was bland and so many starches. My kids barely ate it. The character interaction was sparse and the service was poor. We have never had a bad experience at CP---good food and good service with great character interaction. Good luck in your choice.

we did LTT last month and loved it, fantastic character interaction, CMs service was great and the food was yummy(though not keen on Macaroni and cheese). I have not done CP as the characters don't really appeal. My DD loves Minnie & Pluto.

We have eaten at both the LTT and CP. The food is much better at LTT. They do refil anything you run out of. The CP is a buffet so there are more choices, but it is still a buffet. The LTT brings your food out to you. The characters at both are very good. They do wear colonial costumes at LTT. My little boy was 2 when we went to both and he had a great time at both of them! We actually spent more time with the characters at LTT. Hope you have a great time!:goodvibes

I cannot say enough about the good food and large portions at Liberty Tree Tavern. In April, we were running out of time on our last day and had to forego our reservations at Le Cellier. So we went to LTT instead, and got the roasted turkey.....really really good. So good in fact, it's on my list when we return next October. I'd really recommend it, but I can't speak on CP as we haven't tried it.

We went to both LTT and CP earlier this month and had a good time at both places. We found the character interactions great at both. Minnie, Goofy. Pluto, Chip and Dale at LTT, Pooh, Tigger, Piglet and Eeyore at CP. The servers and other CMs were all very courteous and helpful at both restaurants. Because CP is so large and open we had a few kids come up to our table when the characters were there and the CM told them very nicely but firmly that the characters would be at their table in a few minutes. The rooms st LTT are a lot smaller than the 2 large areas at CP so LTT is quieter.

We really liked the food at CP and we liked the variety. We've been for breakfast and for dinner. As a few posters indicated, buffets are a pain with little ones, but when you have fussy eaters, the variety is a plus. We were very happy with the quality.

Nobody in our party liked the food at LTT. The salad had almost no dressing. At first we thought they forgot the dressing - we don't like a lot, but it was hard to taste any dressing at all. The mashed potatoes were good but the green beans were so-so and really soggy. The rolls were good. The server brought out a bowl of Stouffer's macaroni and cheese for our granddaughter and a plate of meat that I think was over dressing for the adults. The meat was turkey, flank steak and ham all served with one generic bowl of gravy. The turkey tasted ok but it was really dry and needed the gravy. My husband said the ham was very dry too. It was way more starch than we are used to eating at a meal. Our ganddaughter got the princess punch which comes with a light up Tinkerbell clip. She loved the Tink and drank most of the punch (I think it was $5 or $6 extra). We all liked the apple pie/ice cream dessert.

Even though we didn't care for the food, we loved the characters at LTT. It is a nice setting for interacting with the characters.

One thing that was a bit of a pain with our little one, to get to the bathrooms at LTT we had to go up a flight of stairs (there may be a restroom on the first floor, but we were directed upstars).

I would go to CP again but only to LTT if the main thing we wanted was to see the characters. My husband said he would not go back to LTT again for any reason.

Here are a few pictures of the character from LTT and CP

We have children the same sort of age and much prefer Cp over LTT. Much more choice and the WTP characters have them up and about dancing around the restaurant, they love it. :)

CP is too crowded for me. Also I prefer to have the characters come to me rather then chase after them since some parents don't like to teach their children to wait their turn. :headache: I would only go back to CP if it was a late night reservation and the place wasn't packed. I have a hard time walking since so many people are there at once.

Go in the morning!! We had 8:05 am reservations and had a wonderful time. The restaurant was still mostly empty, no kids running up to our table, no long lines at the buffet. It was a wonderful experience!

We ate at both this past trip, and I thought the food at CP was better.

Character interaction was much better at LTT and the characters seem to have more "personality" at LTT.

Service was good at both, but better at LTT.

I like them both, and you really can't go wrong.

With little kids, I think I'd find LTT to be more relaxing as the food is brought straight to you so you don't have to keep getting up to visit the buffet.

Have eaten at both several times and would definitely go for CP as the best choice. I find the children try different foods.

Not a fan of the food at LTT. Only thing that saved the meal was I could drown everything with gravy.

As much as I enjoy CP, I would have to go with LTT. The food is good, the characters come around a lot faster, and it is a LOT quieter (CP can be LOUD).

I really liked the llt when we went in 2004. we made ressies there again for this trip over thanksgiving being bummed we couldn't get adr's for thanksgiving. It is something to have the food brought to you. this is vacation. i can do buffets at home.

We did both during our April trip to Disney. We have a (then) four year old dd, 3 year old dd, and a 16 month old ds. I really liked both, but if I had to only pick one it would be LTT. The food is pre-plated, but refillable - you just have to ask your waiter/waitress. And the character interaction was wonderful. We had a 8:00 seating, the only thing I could get booking only 2 months out (last min trip). But it worked out well, we saw all the characters at least twice some three times and since when we finished the resturant was closing we got to do even more pics with the characters before leaving. The food was good. We had breakfast at CP. HTH!!

LTT all the way. Both DH and I are huge Pooh fans but overall Crystal Palace wasn't that great. The food was average. The wait for the characters to come to the table was frustrating. Neither him or I had patience that night, we saw Pooh and then decided to leave for the night. The one thing that CP is better than LTT is the decor. It was a very beautiful restaurant.
