Can anyone give me their thoughts on Garden Grill vs. Liberty Tree Tavern? It appears that they both have similar menus.

Thank you,

I have only had lunch at LTT and I LOVE it. Never tried GG or LTT for dinner so hopefully someone can give you a comparison of the two. :goodvibes

If it has to be dinner, I woul go for the Garden Grill. I like their menu just a little bit better.

However, if it was me, I would do LTT for lunch hands down. Love the lunch menu. OOEY GOOEY TOFFEE CAKE:worship:

Maybe you could just get the latest lunch time?

Never been to LTT, but GG is good. The food is brought to your table all u can eat. The restaurant rotates very slowly, which is neat. My DD loves the characters there, Usually Mickey, Pluto and Chip & Dale.

We went to both places on our trip in December. We LOVED Liberty Tree Tavern. :thumbsup2 It was our first time there. We went for a late lunch, because the dinner was a fixed menu with one dessert option. My husband and I both got the turkey meals at lunch but he had the ooey gooey toffee cake and I had Martha Washington's chocolate cake (with "liberating icing" - love the menu with the festive names!). We all loved the food, some of the best we had on the trip.

The atmosphere is nice and relaxing at both places.

Garden Grill is a place we'll skip next time. The service was very poor. We were there with 3 children and the waitress brought out only the "adult" selections because there was a mistake and the kitchen hadn't made the children's food. That would have been kind of okay, but there wasn't near enough of it for the 5 of us - just for 2 adults. After a long time, we received the rest of the food, but it was very, very slow and wasn't very good. We told the waitress we'd just skip dessert and just take the check, because we were out of time and wanted to leave. Very disappointing.

That said, our boys loved the characters and have happy memories of that. (They're big Chip & Dale fans.)

We went to both on our last trip, lunch at LTT and dinner at GG. GG wins be a mile. LTT was good, I would go back again but not in any rush too. We book GG for every trip we go on that's how much we like it. The food is very good, the atmosphere is as well, but the character interaction is awesome. Hope this helps.

We have done both LTT and GG and we love them both. We usually do Epcot on our arrival day with GG. I will be there in about 15 days!!! Kids love the characters at GG. We are not doing LTT this time, but i would go back.

I'd vote for Garden Grill! We've been to both many times and they have both been on our kids' list of favorites for years.

Now that Liberty Tree discontinued characters, and two of our three boys are "Disney adults," we only do Liberty Tree for lunch. It's a convenient location and the food is pretty good. If it weren't for the location and our boys' nostalgia, I'm not sure Liberty Tree would stay on the list.

Garden Grill has always been at the very top of their list, and their favorite non-breakfast character meal. It's an arrival night tradition for us, and a nice compromise between characters and relatively good food. I think it's easily the best food available at a character dinner - always fresh, with a nice variety.

I think the menu is a little more interesting at Garden Grill than Liberty Tree - the bread is outstanding, the salad is very fresh and the sweet potato fries are wonderful at Garden Grill. I like the variety of meats and fish at Garden Grill and the veggies are good. The potatoes are great at both. The dessert is usually better at Liberty Tree, but we don't eat much dessert right after dinner.

Good luck with your decision!

I would do GG, even though I've never been. lol. We went to LTT and the service was horrible. We had ADR and still waited almost 2 hrs for our table, walk in's were being seated before us. When we were finally seated, there were 3 of us, they put us at a table for 2 and it was a family style meal. So they brought everything out at once. We had absolutely no room for the food let alone our plates. I had spoken to the manager about this but they did nothing for us. I am willing to try it again but if the service is the same then it will be off my list forever.

Hope where ever you choose you have a great meal. :wizard:

We Love Liberty Tree we always have a early dinner there on halloween or christmas party night. We are not so fond of gg many better offerings at Epcot.

In our experience we have found Garden Grill to be the better experience. Their menu has never disappointed us and they have been quick to bring out additional servings without us even having to ask. The character interactions are evenly spaced out so we aren't constantly interrupted while eating. We also like the general atmosphere/set-up better (my wife is a huge fan of The Land and likes the scenery in the restaurant).
We haven't had any problems at Liberty Tree Tavern or anything, but Garden Grill usually makes our list of restaurants we go to every trip, while LTT we go to occasionally.

I've never been to Garden Grill, but I've been to LTT twice for lunch and I have it scheduled again for our next trip. I don't think I would do dinner there unless they change the menu. I was not a fan of their turkey dinner that I had for lunch last time. I'm not a gravy fan, so without it, the meat was dry. I also don't like the style of stuffing they use. It's so far from a homemade taste that it was like stove top, IMO.

The Garden Grill is a favorite of our family!! I swear the salad is the best I have ever had!! LOL. They will bring you as much food as you like, and my kids love looking for the hidden Mickey in the rotating restaurant. :)

at Liberty Tree Tavern today for a late lunch and I have to say I was impressed with the food. I had the pot rloast and it was heavenly!! My wife the adventerer had the angus chuck cheese burger and said it was as good as the one she had the day before at Le Cellier!!

Thank you all for the feedback. I think we will try GG for this trip!

I have never been to LTT. We have always enjoyed GG. Love the characters, food and spinning restaurant through the Land. It was very memorable for my kids.

I love this thread. I have been trying to decide whether or not DH and I should dine at GG during our August trip this year. We haven't been to WDW together since our honeymoon in 2003. We are going on a huge family trip in August and I was having a hard time justifying the cost for just the two of us to eat at GG. I LOVE the food there and dream about it frequently. Reading this thread has convinced me to book an ADR. Money is just money and we likely won't be back for a few years after this trip.
Thank you, DISers!
