that had to be the grossest meal I ever had at Disneyworld. The ham was on a bone, paper thin, and the taste was gross. HOnestly, I don't know how anyone would eat there twice! Maybe I hit it on a bad day, but the potatoes were pasty and instant, the beef was tough and gristly *sp the veggies were soggy and canned,,,,I can't think of anything nice to say except for the character interaction. There were 11 of us, and they split us up into two rooms. We could barely see each other. The service was terrible, NEVer again!

We eat lunch there every trip. We've never done the character dinner though.

We've always found the food to be hot and delicious!

Sorry yours wasn't.

Did you give your feedback to any of the waitstaff? I would think they'd be able to see that you got decent cuts of meat and fresher veggie items at least. We've eaten there and it has been ok. Although not at the character meal.
So sorry your experience wasn't up to par. That happens sometimes, but you should feel it appropriate to show the staff just what the issue is with the food.
I would do the same in any restaurant setting.

Maybe it was just a bad night. We've eaten there several times for the character dinner and have had no complaints with the meal. For my "meat and potatoes" guy, it's one of his favorite meals.

we had a character dinner there a couple of years ago and other than the character interaction, i have to agree with---
eewwwwwww!
the food was terrible. i felt like they just nuked some stouffers frozen dinners.

Really?? It is one of our favorite places and the site where we'll have our Christmas meal this year, gawd willing...

Well, I would have complained but my daughter thought that would be embarassing so I grinned and bore it.....I dont consider myself a fussy eater and I really wish I could think of something that was good about it, but I really cant. My two favorites so far are LE Cellier in Canada Pavillion, and Portobello' Yacht Club in DD..they have the most awesome crusted ribeye there at Portobellos,,,,,yum :)

Sorry your meal was yucky! We ate there last month and had a great dinner. My picky eaters were all happy. They even made a special grilled cheese platter for DD6 who decided that was all she was in the mood for. They served her the sandwich with french fries and grapes!

We ate there in June of 2000, didn't like it at all. We will not be going back this summer. Going to Cinderellas Castle and another day to FW for the buffet there.

Sorry about you experience! You should have let them know, I'm sure they would have tried to fix it. We ate there in Dec. first time before MVMCP and enjoyed the meal, and character interaction. Going back in July!

My entire family rated it the worst meal we have EVER had to DW.
We are definitely "meat n'potato" people- we all grew up on ranches in Texas. The meat had a very strange taste and the sides were right out of the can.
Absolutely icky!!

I wasn't crazy about it either. The one thing I liked, I loved - the salad. I could have eaten that whole bowl. As a matter of fact, the waitress did bring me more. But I think $22 is alot to pay for a salad.

Sorry to hear about your bad experience. We love the Liberty Tree Tavern!

So different foods/selections are served at the character meals at Liberty Tree Tavern, than at just regular dinner hours there?

We ate there last year and found the food and service to be very nice.
I had the salmon and hubby had his usual steak.
No complaints at all.

Just a guess, but might the problem be that slightly less quality foods are served at the character meals than at the regular dinner times? By less quality I mean that a grade difference in a piece of beef can make a steak JUST a steak and another steak a GREAT steak.

hmgeek, I think you made a good point there, so if I ever do go back, Ill be sure and order off the menu :)
