I've read that the Liberty Square Riverboat will be down for refurbishment during the time we're there - first week of October. Does this mean we can't get to Tom Sawyer's Island? :confused3

You can still get to tom sawyer island. As far as I know this does not affect the boat that takes you to the island.

Yes, unfortunately the Riverboat is scheduled to be down until next year.(2006) We will miss it in December. ;(

That is correct...To access TSI you take a raft. The rafts are located along the river between Splash and Thunder Mountain. The Riverboat does not affect TSI so you are fine ;)

I'm bummed the riverboat wont be in action either time I am down there this fall :guilty:

We were just there and the boat was only down some days of the week adn running others (don't remember which). You can still get to Tom's Island by rafts though.

Yeah you can't get to TSI by boat - the rafts are cooler anyway b/c they're not on a track :)

When DH and I were there over Labor Day the boat was not running.

We are taking the whole family back in two weeks and I am wondering if that is the same boat that is used during MNSSHP. If it is not running then I am assuming there will be no Haunted Riverboat Cruise?

The Riverboat had a scheduled rehab earlier in September, when they brought it to Wet dock (behind Big Thunder Mountain) they decided to take it out of service for an extensive refurbishment (since it has not had one since it debuted as the Liberty Belle in 1994/1995 (?)) The boat is currently still behind Big Thunder (you can see it from the Train) and should be brought over to Dry dock (behind the Contemporary) sometime in October. The boat is expected to be out of service until May 2006 at the earliest.

As far as MNSSHP this year they will not have the Haunted Riverboat Cruise, but they are looking into a storytelling area somewhere between the Riverboat Landing and the Haunted Mansion.

Thanks for the quick reply...we'll look for that new storytelling area.

9 days....oh my gosh......

Thanks for the info about the rafts CDSTapisRouge - I had no idea. My DS9 is gonna love that! :flower:
