Lia & Jess's Hot and Fancy Halloween and Christmas Party Trip! ~ NEW TR POSTED 9/2!!!

Amazing updates, Lia! You always have a knack for making us feel like we were there with you! :thumbsup2

Haha, that's so funny about Serge questioning your Hot and Fancy pose. I follow him on IG too and Photopass really was the perfect job for him. His photos are fantastic and the ones he got of you guys are perfect. Well done, Serge! :thumbsup2

The Hot and Fancy pose on ToT is too great. So jealous you got a 13 minute wait. Love your Hades, Pain and Panic pin! Never seen that before. And I totally agree about the Hollywood decor, snazzy Walt alone is proof enough.

OMG, you should've totally bought that Alice in Wonderland frame! Super cool and your MNSSHP photos would've fit perfectly in it. And that Ariel pin is awesome! I have the Goofy pin in that set.

I'm sorry you weren't able to get in Mama Melrose, but that cupcake sounds/looks delicious! I wish they did the whole "buy one get another free" thing year round because I totally would've gotten quite a few DHS cupcakes.

YAY FOR FANTASMIC! Jess got some gorgeous photos. And I never knew they had updated the lights on the princess floats! Awww, now I'm super sad I wasn't able to see it when I was there. :'(

TIANA'S SHOE! OMG, NEED! I have Ariel's, but Tiana's... I NEEDS BAD.

Lol, Baroque hehe

I love those signs they have around Pop! I wish I had seen the Tom Hanks one. He truly is the King and those who say otherwise are wrong. The end. And it makes me so happy how one of my favorite Disney movies came out the same year as Forrest Gump because Forrest Gump and The Lion King.

Oh that pasta looks so good! I wish I had gotten some dinner from AoA, it looks delish there. Stupid ADRs dragging me away at night :/

Can't wait to read more! :mickeyjum

Great updates!! Glad you’re back & writing, I even had a random thought on the way to work today and was all like “I miss Lia!” then stopped and was like “wait….I’ve never actually MET her…..” and had a little ponder about that, bahaha!

You're so adorable. :goodvibes:

Another fabulous update, Lia...you really are spoiling us!

The CM shop looks incredible...like one of those wonderful places you only ever dream of but don't actually exist!

I know you're from NJ and you often speak about your love on Manhattan...I know it's not exactly Disney related but I'm giving up a Disney trip this year to visit another part of the USA - namely NYC, Chicago and Vegas. I wondered if you had any tips of places I should visit when in NYC? I am so excited to go but overwhelmed with all there is to do!

In NYC, spend more time downtown in the village than uptown/midtown. Don't go to any chain restaurants. Get pizza at Two Boots. Eat at Angelo's on Mulberry St. and The Stanton Social on Stanton St. See any band/musician at Rockwood Music Hall, it's the best venue ever and most of the shows are free. See any Broadway show, they're all worth it. Get on the subway and get off at any random Manhattan shop and just wander around. Go shopping downstairs at the Plaza hotel and visit Eloise's room. See a film at the Paris, the Ziegfeld, the IFC Center, Anjelika or Cinema Village. See any show UCB has to offer and laugh your butt off. Visit as many museums as you can. Go to the top of the Empire State Building late, they're open until 2am. Section off a lot of hours to get lost in Central Park - go to the zoo and Strawberry Fields and rent a paddle boat. I could go on!

Great updates as always! I am SOOO excited for MNSSHP this year, I think I'm only doing one, so I really have to plan! My priority is seeing Jack and Sally, but I have a dinner ADR at 4 something at LTT, so I hope when I get out, I have enough time to run over there and get in line before the party starts! I hate the idea of wasting party time in a line! :faint:

I think we'll be in Disney at the same time, I'm going from 9/19-9/29, if I see you I'll say hi! Well, maybe, since I'm obnoxiously shy and awkward haha! :rotfl2:

Yeah we will be there the same time! Feel free to say hi! I'm sure you'll be alright with Jack & Sally. Just get in line before the party actually starts and you'll be fine.

Hey Lia,

It it so great to have your updates to read again! We are getting so close to our trip next month and your TR's are the perfect gateway to a full on WDW fix! Our summer has been so crazy busy and being able to kick back for a few minutes and live vicariously though your adventures is the perfect primmer for this upcoming trip. Like so many other DISers, we cannot wait for your next installment!!!!!

Rob & Jenn

Hey guys! Good to have you here again! Less than a month for you huh? :woohoo:

Haha, that's so funny about Serge questioning your Hot and Fancy pose. I follow him on IG too and Photopass really was the perfect job for him. His photos are fantastic and the ones he got of you guys are perfect. Well done, Serge! :thumbsup2

Thanks Timmy :goodvibes Always love your comments. Don't worry, I'm sure the Fantasmic floats will be that way for a long, long time!

NOVEMBER 2, 2013
Day 4, Part 1 In Which I Soar Above The Kingdom!

This morning, I wanted to get up bright and early to go to the one, the only... Magic Kingdom!

However, it wasn't so bright. It was pretty cloudy and rain was clearly on its way. That wasn't going to stop me!

Jess, on the other hand, was really tired and wanted to sleep in. It was completely understandable - she had mentioned how since settling into living down there, she never does the parks day after day, opening til closing anymore the way we were doing. It makes sense and I didn't mind since I love my solo time! We decided she would join me around noon for lunch at BE OUR GUEST!! WOOOOOOOO!

Once I was almost at the bus stop, I realized that I forgot my freaking poncho in the room. The attractive piece of plastic I paid $7 for in 2011 that sits useless in my closet for most of the year, that could finally be used, was back in the room. I didn't turn back to get it cause I wanted a shot at seeing the Welcome Show. COME AT ME RAIN YOU ARE NO MATCH FOR LIA!!!

I got to Magic Kingdom literally during like the last 30 seconds of the Welcome Show. I could hear the music ending and everything, BOO. Oh well, the good thing about realizing you've missed the Welcome Show is that you have a day of ridiculous MK fun ahead of you!! YEAH!!!

Magic Kingdom opened, and I strolled in without a care in the world! I noticed the pumpkins were still up which filled me with glee.

13151331543_cbb0ce2d6e.jpg

No need to rush into the Christmas explosion yet. I actually had "This is Halloween" stuck in my head all morning and had been singing it to myself, so you could say Magic Kingdom and I were completely in sync (*NSYNC). Also, the fact that those pumpkins look EXACTLY like the ones from the old Disney Halloween shorts makes me waaaay too happy.

13138618803_6f5cf5c233_o.png

As most people rushed to New Fantasyland or the mountains, I went into the Emporium to pin trade. I ended up finding these from the beach series, yay!

Always a good place for a little photoshoot.

13151668145_0cf3f35042_o.png

Next, I headed to Tomorrowland.

13138784854_fc034c1d50_o.png

Today was basically "Take a photo of the castle every time the angle changes" day.

13138776024_b45f093f49_o.png

I love this one. It's empty and gloomy and yet still beautiful cause of this perfect castle.

13138498015_bb5529ab24_o.png

I strolled over to Space Mountain to get a Fastpass, and then made my way over to my first attraction of the day... Astro Orbiter! I was on mission because I've either never been on that ride or I did when on my first trip when I was little. I don't really remember, but I've been trying to ride it the past few trips and the line is always pretty long. Luckily, at this time there was no wait. FINALLY MY ASTRO DREAMS COMING TRUE.

I got onto an elevator and up we went. That was interesting, and reminded me of the fake ride from the remake of House on Haunted Hill, which was actually shot at Islands of Adventure. It literally makes NO sense and would never work in real life, but as a kid I thought it was a cool ride!

Once we got to the top, I realized the view alone was worth the trip up.

13138496935_76ca9e37ee_o.png

I just adore seeing Disney from different angles. I find that even if the attraction isn't exactly an E-Ticket, it's still just so much fun for me due to my endless obsession with this place.

13138617013_9d6a789a59_o.png

I got into my rocket and well, let's just say this ride is definitely vintage Disney (which I love). I mean, I felt totally safe and all, but it's clearly old.

There was a random dollop of glitter in the rocket I chose. Obviously not a coincidence!

13138783674_a361d95253_o.png

It was a pretty eventful ride since it went faster than I expected AND it started raining, making for some very interesting and slippery picture taking. I am very lucky I did not lose my camera/die on this ride.

13138614783_c38e031346_o.png

So cool to see the pathway from Tomorrowland to the Hub from up here!

13138781694_b3e98f8283_o.png

Overall it was a fun experience, I'd wait in line if I had to. Not more than say, 15 minutes, but the view is just amazing and it's really cool to be on a Dumbo-like ride that high in the air. I loved it!

It was pouring by the time I got back to earth, so I went straight on the Peoplemover, aka one of the best rides ever and the perfect place to wait out a storm.

13138613873_686a4763e4_o.png

I took this opportunity to relax and braid my hair, you know, as you do. When the ride ended, it was still raining hard, so I asked the CM if I could stay on. He said, "If I were you, I wouldn't want to get off either!" He gets me.

13138776974_efebe6c86d_o.png

You can't tell how hard it was raining. I should have taken video because it was pretty funny to people watch from up there. You would see no one and then suddenly a poncho-laden family would RUN from under one attraction's overhang to another. Oh man, was I amused.

I also saw Stitch greeting just like right in the middle of plaza. Just fully getting rained on. It was so weird. I don't know what they were thinking having him out there! I guess he too forgot his poncho but, like me, would not let the rain stop him. You go Stitch!

After my second ride, it was still pouring, but I was getting antsy. I became one of the people running furiously over to the next attraction. The closest one was Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin. Not a favorite of mine, but it would do while I waited out the rain.

13151213575_e38775b15b.jpg

If I look very upset and confused in my ride photo, it's because I WAS.

13138608563_185a0e105b.jpg

I just... this ride is so below Disney's quality standard. The technology is so outdated. I say this every time, but compared to Toy Story Mania it's a joke.

If this ride originated in the 70's, it would be kind of charming that it was old and it would be this great piece of Disney history, but it's not even that outdated! All that Magic Band technology and they can't replace the guns and lasers with something that actually, you know, works? *Ask Ashley voice* MAN!

You're so adorable. :goodvibes:

I could go on!

Thanks so much for taking the time to answer me - they all sound like great suggestions and some are things I would never have thought of so THANK YOU! I can't wait to do some research into them and start planning our trip - only six weeks to go!

I'm so glad you mentioned getting a paddle boat - I am so desperate to do this with my boyfriend and secretly pretend we are Ariel and Eric (if only Sebastian could be there to serenade us!) :yay: I'm just scared I capsize us haha xx

Oh my gosh that little Dino in the window at HS! I remember when that show was on all it kept saying was "Not the Mama. NOT THE MAMA!!!" Anyways I always love reading about your solo time in the parks. Great update :)

So happy you went on Astro Orbiter!!! I, too, either haven't ever been on it or went when I was far too young to remember. I will have to do so soon... the view looks too intriguing to pass up!

:rotfl: on your "Ask Ashley" reference!!! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 I work in a museum library and every time someone is remotely loud I have an urgent desire to get out a megahorn and scream into it "QUIET THIS IS A LIBRARY!!!" Another All That reference ;)

STOP IT! How did I never know there is a baby Sinclair at DHS?!?!?! I LOVED Dinosaurs! One of my favorite shows as a kid. Why don't they make TV like that anymore?? It's tragic!

There was so much greatness in these updates, and now I can't remember all that I wanted to post about. But !

Before I forget, I totally had a thought about why Disney weddings are so darn special. Wedding... W.E.D. Walter Elias Disney. Makes perfect sense.

Oh my, there is just something extra special when Tower is listed at 13 minutes. I thought they do it all the time for "no wait" but I've actually seen (and been disappointed) at 5 and 10 and 15 showing sometimes.

Haha yeah I did the same thing on the Peoplemover. I'm going around again please.

THANK YOU!!!!! I've never understood the love people have for Space Ranger Spin. I don't hate it, but I don't get it either.

Great updates, Lia. Two for one cupcakes would have me giddy!!!

I am normally a lurker of your trip reports, but as I have started to write a wedding planning journal on the Disboard Wedding Forum, I have started to also comment on the reports I have been reading.

First off, let me say that your Halloween costume was amazing. I have never been to a MNSSHP, but my husband loves Halloween and after he proposed to me this past January at Disney, he is now obsessed with Disney. Not as much as me, but close. We got married 25 days after our engagement due to some seriously unfortunate circumstances and are planning a big wedding for our 1 year anniversary. He has already said he wants to go to Disney for our honeymoon. And I am trying to work a cruise in. Haha.

Anyway, back to your report. lol.

I would seriously love to know how the UP pumpkin did not win?????? I am obsessed with UP! It is the theme of my wedding. So naturally, seeing that it came in second really upset me.

Also, Toy Story is one of my favorite movies and I am super excited to find out that they have a Pizza Planet souvenir cup! We haven't been there since I was younger, but OMG we are going there on our Disneymoon! I have to have that cup! Souvenir cups are the main souvenirs I get because I love looking all fancy when I am at home with my fancy Disney cup:)

Anyway, I am super excited to read the rest of this report, as well as your next one!

Okay, so it's a little too bad that the song Fancy (Iggy Azalea) didn't come out while you guys were on your Hot and Fancy trip. That would have been so perfect! I can just imagine you both singing it all day through the parks. he he.

Wow, the updates! So happy you are back and posting at a ferocious rate! All great updates, and I especially enjoyed all the food involved! :thumbsup2

Thanks for the tip about Bowtie cinemas. I just checked and the Clairidge in Montclair seems like it still plays non-mainstream films so I am super happy right now! :goodvibes By the way, I'm not sure how close this is to you, but if you haven't been to the Ridgefield Park theater since it became Starplex you have to go. It's cheaper than the AMC at GSP and they have huge comfy armchairs with reclining seats and the leg-rest thingy that pops up!

Day 4, Part 2 In Which We Are Hot, Fancy, and Rainy

The rain was, again, still coming down hard when I got out. I hung out in the small dump shop awhile, and fell in love with this shirt.

13138515665_dc93353029_o.png

I meant to go back and get it, but I never did. Not until my April birthday trip, that is! It was one of my many birthday presents to myself. It's just the best shirt ever. I wear it to work and I usually don't wear character shirts there, but it makes me laugh throughout the day, and I always go out of my way to like open my jacket and show it to people if I'm wearing something over it. As Gina pointed out, Buzz just looks so happy about telling you to give him space. It's so funny. I can't.

The rain had slowed, but still could soak you pretty quickly if you braved it. However... I wanted to keep going, and I saw Buzz right outside the door with only two people in line. I thought, when else am I going to meet Buzz with no line? Let's go!!

So I ran like a maniac over to him and he was quite happy to see me. He grabbed my hand, bowed his head, and gave it a big SMOOCH. Oh Buzz, you're so dreamy.

13151213275_3be6aa7f6f.jpg

When I was leaving, I said to Buzz, "Have an intergalactic day!" and he got all excited and suddenly wouldn't let me leave. His attendant was like, "Uh oh, you've done it now! He's never gonna let you go!" Buzz shook his head no in agreement and grabbed my hand to give me ANOTHER kiss!

13151789113_66f1e7f87a_o.png

What a ladies toy! We took another photo together cause like, he was falling in love with me LBR.

13151792203_ce46f6b1f0_o.png

Jessie sure is one lucky cowgirl. :D

I saw that Stitch had moved under the overhang at Carousel of Progress, so I decided I would run over there as well, cause again, when else is there gonna be no line?

Once I got over to him, there was one family meeting with him, and I thought he was gonna have to go back in, but his attendant was super nice and said that his set was far from over.

Unfortunately, Stitch wasn't in the same good mood. He wasn't very receptive to anything I said and just wanted to take the picture and send me on my way. I mentioned that he probably wasn't used to this weather on his planet and he just shook his head no and looked at me. Super awkward -__-

I can't find the photo with Stitch... I think it's because I didn't like it? Oh well, it wasn't the best meet, but it's okay!

I was planning on hitting everything in Tomorrowland at this point, cause it seemed like the rain was not going to stop any time soon. Fine with me! So Carousel of Progress was up next since I was already there!

I had to wait a few minutes, which was fine because I just watched my beloved Walt Disney on the screen. He was engaging in his daily activity of being flawless. Vine: https://t.co/1Xh0OniEcu

13138791804_4f0726ba9f_o.png

During the CoP, I took a photo of the fall scene because this was the fall trip to end all fall trips! And by "to end all fall trips", I mean I'm going again this fall.

13138503415_39dcff619a_o.png

By that time my Fastpass for Space was ready to be used, so I rocketed over there! As I walked through the FP queue, I realized that the Fastpass was entirely unnecessary. You know what that means - I got off and right back on through the standby line! It's crazy how a little rain will deter people. I mean, I know most guests are not as fortunate as I to come so often, so I can't believe they would waste precious Disney time! Strap on a poncho and haul your behind to the Kingdom, folks!

Jess texted me saying she was coming and I told her to dress for the rain because it was still pouring. You could say she did not exactly follow my advice. I should have told her to bring me my poncho and a fresh pair of shoes (I was wearing flip flops so my feet were quite slippery and cold) but I totally forgot. We were a pretty damp duo by the time she got there, let me tell you.

I rode Space a third time and then decided to pin trade in the shops for awhile. Yep, still pouring. #StuckInTomorrowland2013

Astro Mickey!

13151335393_a42c50ab3f.jpg

I got Wendy and another beach themed pin! They were everywhere.

13138790274_eee4554cab_o.png

I love these Mickey ones, they come in all different colors.

13138513135_4012c73262_o.png

A bored CM had done this to a pile of notepads. #SlowDayAtMK

13138623623_a245d12dd0_o.png

Sorry I hashtag everything. It's 2014, what can I say.

I went on Space one more time (again, no line... crazy!) and then Jess texted me to say she was completely SOAKED and almost at Magic Kingdom. We decided to meet at Pinocchio's, and when I went outside, I was delighted that the rain had FINALLY STOPPED. Oh my God time to be dry, thank you, thank you, thank you.

Right outside of Pinocchio's, I spotted this pin on a CM's little messenger bag pin thingy and had to trade for it right away!

BYE3DyLIgAEkzhX.jpg

That's William Moseley from the Narnia movies! Sigh... I was in love with him.

I got a cup of the best drink ever (besides LeFou's Brew!!), Pinocchio Punch AKA All-Natural Lemonade with Wildberry Foam and sat down.

13138612853_e525f745b1_o.png

There was a mother and son sitting next to me and the boy was one of those kids who is such a know it all and thinks about everything instead of just going with whatever their parents say. He was such a joy to listen to. His mother was going through everything they were going to do that day. She got to the part where she said, "Oh, and I bet we will see Princess Tiana!" the son shot back, "Tiana's a chef. I don't know why she would be here." Oh my God it was delicious.

Jess arrived and the poor thing was soaked to the bone. She was wearing shorts, a tank top, and a big sweatshirt that was soggy and hanging off her. It literally looked like she had leaped in a pool fully clothed and then came to Magic Kingdom.

She said, "You're lucky I love you!" and I felt SO bad. She probably figured it was just one of Florida's famous sun showers or something, but that was not the case this day. She said that during the big downpour, she was walking from her car to the monorail. It sucked, I was so worried she was gonna get sick.

She decided she needed to finally buy the Christmas Mickey crewneck she had been eyeing, I mean, at this point it was necessary for survival. First though, she wanted to eat, so we set off to our glorious lunch destination, Be Our Guest!

We got in the CS line, and of course it started raining again. Oh man. So naturally we did what anyone would do, we took a hot and fancy rain selfie.

13138621993_55d584a5cf_o.png

We are great.

The line moved pretty fast, thank God. I was so excited! I had eaten here on my arrival day, but one trip was simply not enough. That first time made a huge fan out of me and I will probably be their guest on every trip for the rest of my life.

Once we got in the castle, we saw the MOST AMAZING THING WE COULD HAVE SEEN IN THAT MOMENT. No folks, it wasn't Eugene Fitzherbert. So yeah, I guess it was the second best thing: a giant dryer!

13151218015_fc51f295f8.jpg

That's Jess crouching in front of it, trying desperately to dry off. She really was a great sport. I am such a nightmare when I get wet involuntarily. There are a LOT of discomforts I can shrug off, but if I had been as soaked as she, I would not have been a fun person to be around!

Luckily, I was pretty dry already, but that dryer was a lifesaver as far as my feet go. THANK YOU DISNEY.

Months later, Jess was at Be Our Guest and they had the dryer out again, and she texted me a photo of it and it made me laugh so hard. Ahh, memories.

We got our food and went to sit in The West Wing. I was so excited because that's where I wanted to sit the first time I ate there, but it's the smallest room so it was too crowded. This time, we found a table right away! MK was just so empty.

I got the same meal as the time before, the Braised Pork.

13138620993_449f2f78ab_z.jpg

Everything about this dish is perfect and it will be one of my favorite Disney meals forever. I can't believe this high quality of food is served at a CS location. So awesome.

I wanted the Master's Cupcake again, but Jess had raved about the Strawberry one from her past visits there, so I had to try it!

13138510545_3aacf4490a_o.png

Shocker, it was absolutely delicious! I still like the Master's better, but I'm so glad I tried this one too.

The Master's Cupcake was still relatively new at this point, so Jess had actually not tried it yet. So that's what she got.

13155544254_a5eaf2d87d_z.jpg

Of course, she loved it. Putting the Grey Stuff on a cupcake you can buy at lunch was a genius idea. YUM!!!!!!!!!

Once we finished, it was time to go get Jess's sweatshirt. The poor girl was practically melting, and I was pretty uncomfortable too, so we decided we would head out of MK after that.

I took this picture of the castle on the way over...

13138510265_9fd1225b3c_o.png

I LOVE how it came out! It wasn't that dark, so it was just a fluke. Very appropriate for Halloween!

13151339943_0ebbac6c58.jpg

Jess found her sweatshirt right away and we went up to the register to pay. I saw a Halloween themed gift card I had never seen before, and I had to have it for the pin & photo board I knew I would make after this trip. I put $20 on it just so I could have it. Oh, Halloween. You get me every time.

Happy, dry, Christmassy Jess!

13155255185_682bd14c84.jpg

Out came the sun and dried up all the rain...

13151216955_39c8695a8e_o.jpg

This is Halloween, everybody make a scene!

13155762144_7629ba5f30.jpg

13155606723_63cb591dec.jpg

On the way out, we saw they still had the Hitchhiking Mickey popcorn bucket available!! OH THANK GOD. We were so bummed when we realized we forgot to pick them up on Halloween! They had these throughout the entire rest of my trip (I left on November 6th) so if you miss a holiday item, don't worry! Chances are it will be there for awhile after the holiday passes.

13138603873_a63986c6db_o.png

As you can see, I used my awesome Halloween gift card to buy it! WOO!

Hitchhiking Mickeys purchased, we were literally seconds away from leaving MK when we saw a very familiar puppy run by us.

Day 4, Part 3 In Which WE ARE DRY THANK YOU GOD

IT WAS PLUTO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

13138772634_b0d6d95ce4_o.png

I've never seen Jess move faster in my life. Her face was sooooo funny. She just made a beeline to him, it was so cute. Long live Jess's Pluto obsession.

13151499254_7a4292d2b7_o.jpg

I was so happy cause I always want pictures with characters in that spot but the lines are usually horrendous. We were lucky to catch him right as he came out, because the line formed quickly behind us.

13151216495_e9127969f5.jpg

13155389703_59178a03a6_z.jpg

Oh, how we love you, Pluto!!

13155255295_a204a4431b_z.jpg

That was such an exhilirating meet and greet! I love surprises like that. So much fun.

We finally headed out of the Kingdom and as we waited for the monorail, I showed a little love to my main man.

13151498834_2d3a7e46da.jpg

I posted that on Instagram, and Eugene texted me seconds later, outraged. There's enough of me to go around, sugar!!!!!

Halloween flowers that would very soon be Christmas poinsettias!

13138602623_b1b9ca9d71_o.png

Jess had the most perfect antenna topper, so of course I had to take a picture.

13138602133_e63b8cd385_o.png

Back at Pop, I saw this awesome Holiday window display a guest did! I love these.

13138491995_e157ce5ff8_o.png

We soaked our feet in the tub which felt beyond amazing. Then we changed and got all dolled up for the rest of our day. It felt sooooo good to get away from the dampness and be comfortable again!

Off to Hollywood we went... we had a lot of great things planned for tonight! I took this photo, which made me think we parked in the Television section. Unfortunately, we did not. *Foreshadowing alert*

13156406233_d837e96eb5_o.png

Ahh, we were dry. Such a lovely feeling.

13156007604_b723e22050_o.png

13155725025_a7946870e1_o.png

I look so sad in this photo. Clearly not having any fun.

13156242865_9ed429c6b5_z.jpg

Then, oh look at that! Jess caught some balloons!

13156012194_59b9d9eb4d_z.jpg

Once we arrived at Studios, we went right to Minnie's lovely new Meet & Greet at The Magic of Disney Animation! Well, it was new back then anyway.

Oddly, it wasn't marked or anything. No signs. There wasn't even a CM standing outside of it. We found it because we are Disney pros, but I wasn't surprised to see no line. An everyday guest walking by could easily miss it!

The queue is packed with amazing Disney-fied versions of classic movie posters.

13155815613_88b6c1a379.jpg

Jess had to take a photo with this one cause look at her sweatshirt!

13156559944_e63278b862_o.png

13156272995_4542ef2364_z.jpg

There were like two groups ahead of us and then we got into Minnie's room! Oh my God, I loved it. Her many golden awards were on display along with fabulous Hollywood photos of her. Overall it was just a very hot and fancy room. So happy for you, Minnie.

13155726755_a79bd65596_z.jpg

We told her we loved her new room and her sparkly dress. She was very flattered!

13155723115_5b084d3c63_z.jpg

She freaked out a little bit when she saw my earrings, which were of her one and only love, Mickey. I was surprised that Minnie noticed such a small detail... what a sweetheart.

13155721765_8c75e878e0_o.png

Next, we went to meet her boyf, who is of course just steps away! I hadn't met him in his Yesnid outfit in years!

The line was pretty long, but we didn't really care. It's freaking Mickey Mouse. It is he who has my heart.

13155854773_3df9b96c9a_o.png

I LOVE YOU SO MUCH MICKEY ;_____;

13155848333_7be4d2c2de_o.png

Cutest thing on the planet.

13155852193_cec434ff82_z.jpg

This one really reminds me of a red carpet photo. Hollywood Studios is hitting the nail on the head.

Day 4, Part 4 In Which Rapunzel the Elf is Born!

I just love the little details of this M&G. Anything movie related is my bag, baby.

13156558844_1610820f43_o.png

I was very happy because I was able to find another Christmas pin, this time Minnie as a snow...woman? AND I finally got the no dancing on this ride pin. WOO

13156281905_31c0417716_o.png

We wanted to do the drawing class next, but we couldn't. GUESS WHY! BEST REASON EVER, WE HAD A RESERVATION AT THE SCI-FI DINE-IN THEATRE AKA THE BEST RESTAURANT IN THE ENTIRE WORLD AND UNIVERSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

13138778444_c6479202b9_o.png

I was so excited.

Duh.

I will now write about this experience for the 2383098th time. It is almost always the same. Sorry. I don't care. It's the best and there's no need to change anything. I get the same food every time. I quote the same lines from all the cheesy clips. I guffaw at the amazing Cat Who Hated People. I call whoever I'm dining with a Gila Monster. I pretend I am Danny Zuko, stranded at the drive in, branded a fool. I scream when I see the 50ft woman and giant tarantula. I cheer when Walt Disney comes on the screen. I drink a milkshake with glee. It's a flawless experience every time!!!!!!!

13156283785_5e431c7217_o.png

This was actually my 8th time dining here. Then my birthday trip was the 9th time. My next trip will mark my 10th!! WOO THAT ONE WILL HAVE TO BE A PARTY.

Anyway... Sci Fi. Our waiter came and he was very personable. I learned from him that they had a SPECIAL milkshake. This was not just any special milkshake. THIS WAS A PUMPKIN MILKSHAKE!!!!!! ***CRYING***

13155971004_412638f0b8_o.jpg

This was one of the best things I have ever consumed in my life. Because of this, I ate so much pumpkin ice cream until it went out of season, I can't even tell you. Of course it wasn't the same, this Sci-Fi milkshake must have used some magic because it was above and beyond. I eat a LOT of pumpkin stuff, it's my favorite flavor and I certainly don't just relegate it to the fall. However, of course when autumn does hit, I go pumpkin crazy, and so I was literally like bouncing in my seat over this amazing thing. Please marry me, pumpkin milkshake. I will be such a good wife. ;__;

YAYAYAYAY LOOK WHO IT IS!

13155688915_1b161abf1a_o.jpg

I love that stupid cat!!! You moved to outer space and learned a valuable lesson, didn't you?!

13156275185_d777705585_o.png

Jess and I were looking all over for the insane server that Gina and I met on the May trip. If you don't know what I'm talking about, please check that out here. We actually did spot him - he was balancing some guest's camera on one of the speakers. I didn't think that looked entirely safe for what looked like an expensive DSLR, but what do I know? I seriously just wanted to walk up to him and explain the hilarious effect he had made on our lives, but I never did! Jess and I planned to have him take our photo at the end of the meal, and I can't remember what happened. Probably some combo of we forgot/couldn't find him anymore. Oh well!! He lives on forever in my funny bone!

Guess what food I got! Shocking news, the same thing as the past 7 times dining here!

13156284415_35d638c94a_o.png

13156416583_6f4d006ab8_o.png

The perfect meal. I believe Jess and I shared this.

Our server asked us if we were Cast Members. We had decided I would start telling people I am Belle's character attendant LOL. I don't think we actually told him that though, or maybe we did because he was being pretty candid with us. It's funny because at this time we didn't know we would be going on a cruise together six months from then, but we started discussing DCL with him and how much we wanted to go. Jess mentioned that she heard the discounts for CMs are crazy, and she really wanted to go soon. He bristled a bit and said, "Oh, I know, the discounts are great. But I'm sure you know what I mean when I say this, Mickey Mouse is the LAST face I want to see when I'm on vacation!"

LOL

No, we don't know what you mean. If anyone in the world has ever NOT known what you mean, it's us. We could literally live in a Mickey Mouse igloo decoupaged with photos of Mickey Mouse, surrounded by TVs running Mickey Mouse cartoons on a constant loop, and still not be sick of Mickey Mouse.

Jess said, "Um.... I love him though." and the guy just walked away! LOL omg, it was so hilarious.

I was just like dude, you have the wrong audience.

I understand that not every CM is going to love Disney as much as we do. That makes sense.
Of course, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but it just came off as very nasty. Like "I work here and it's great but screw that mouse LOL!" No, sir.

It was also just really funny to me because knowing Jess, she couldn't be farther from that mentality and he just considered it a given that she would agree with him. I was amused.

Also... the cruises are AMAZING! Wow. Most people would be pretty damn excited to get a cheap cruise as a job benefit! I hope he ended up going and seeing for himself how awesome DCL is.

Another awesome meal at Sci Fi under our belts, we headed back to Animation for a drawing class.

Hey look FROZEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

13138779074_636b238047_o.png

Remember, at this time, Frozen had not come out. We were all WHAT IS THIS MYSTERIOUS AND EXCITING FROZEN?!???????? I mean, we knew about it, but not much. Jess mentioned that her friend Mark, who I'm sure you all remember from her CP, wanted to be friends with "that guy" aka: Kristoff. Mark actually kinda does have a Kristoff thing going on so I hope he gets to live his dream someday!'

We found out a class had just started, so we had some time. I headed to the restroom and Jess went to look around in the shop.

13156243005_c85c664894.jpg

We took these selfies separately without even knowing the other was doing the same thing... reason #980984 why we are best friends.

13156568714_4588b76ea8_o.png

Our boys, you know.

I saw this awesome Halloween drawing of Minnie and had to post it on Instagram.

13155971104_af876032a1.jpg

People thought I drew that! They were leaving comments congratulating me. SO FUNNY because I could never produce a drawing like that if I practiced for 10 years, but thanks for thinking I could!

I found this awesome Queen of Hearts pin!

13156413433_300bf34f74_o.png

On our way into the drawing class, we talked about how badly we wanted to draw Rapunzel or Eugene. I had drawn Merida in the past, but that was the only human character I had ever drawn, so I knew it was a rare occurrence.

13156569404_7a6c4fa55d_o.png

We sit down and the animator starts talking about a Disney film that he says is the best one they have made since the Disney Renissance in the 90's. In my head I'm like, "Tangled", but a lot of people don't agree with me so I didn't think that was what he meant. So he starts laying it on THICK. He starts fangirling basically about how perfect this movie is from top to bottom. How visually stunning it is while having a great story and appealing to so many different people. How it's genuinely funny and touching and made him cry, etc etc. He was going IN.

Then he asked how many of us would like to draw RAPUNZEL FROM TANGLED as opposed to some other character from another movie. Jess and I FLIPPED. OUR DREAM CAME TRUE!

Our hands went right up in the air and we started excitedly chattering about how, omg, we had just said this in the hall and now it was happening! I said to the animator, "WE LITERALLY JUST SAID THAT WE WANTED TO DRAW RAPUNZELFLKFDOSF" and he got all excited, like even more than he had been describing how great the film is. I was like, um, MARRY ME?!

As I have said many times, I feel this way about Tangled. I never thought a newer Disney film could match the magic of my childhood favorites, and Tangled proved me wrong. I was so happy to be drawing my soul sister and idol, RAPUNZEL FITZHERBERT!!!!!!!!!!

During the class, this dude continued to go on and on about his Tangled obsession. I loved it so much. LET'S ALL CELEBRATE TANGLED HELL YEAH!

So... this was the hardest drawing class I've ever taken.

For comparison purposes, first let us look at Jess's.

13156243205_797e879d67_z.jpg

Ok, so maybe it doesn't look exactly like Rapunzel in the movie, but still pretty good, right? She looks like a human being, which is a plus.

I titled mine, "Elfin Rapunzel" OR (alternate title) "Peter Jackson's Rapunzel."

14753282722_8fbcc8a1d8_o.jpg

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA oh man. I may be the most proud of this drawing out of all of them. I'm not really sure.

Our last stop in Hollywood that night was a little visit to my lovely tower.

13156280565_131d87795d_o.png

I don't know what happened. It was extremely hot and fancy, and yet I forgot to put my hand up. My favorite is Jess being all hot and fancy compared to the guy next to her LOL.

13156529654_6113852aa8_z.jpg

He does not look happy! Probably disappointed that I didn't throw up that sass hand. Sorry dude!

13156411603_90a9048a25_o.png

13156279565_e3b2f49e8b_o.png

When we were getting off the ride, Gina texted to tell me that she had ARRIVED AT HOLLYWOOD STUDIOS AND WAS WALKING TO THE GATE TO MEET US WOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! So Jess and I became a two-woman Hilary Duff parade and sung "So Yesterday" as we looked for Gina. I was going to text her and ask her exact location but then I found her on my own (oddly, the same thing happened in April... BFFAE radar?!).

Day 4, Part 5 In Which We Are Reunited With BOB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our plan had been to go to Fort Wilderness for Chip & Dale's Campfire Singalong. However, it took us WAY too long to find Brooke. It was a whole ordeal. The thing about Fort Wilderness is that it is huge. You need to park and then take internal busses around, and there was a big chance we would be late for the campfire. I was sad about this because it is something I had never done before and it sounded so fun. Well, guess what, Gina & I went in April and IT IS AMAZING. However, that is a story for another Trip Report.

Our plan after the campfire was to go see the one, the only... BOB JACKSON!!!!!!!!!!!! So we decided to just go straight to Port Orleans for that. YAY!

That's the thing about Disney World... you miss one thing, and a ton of other wonderful experiences await you! So it wasn't that bad. Plus I was in Disney with my BFFs, now how could I complain?!

Once we finally found Brooke, we set off for Port Orleans: Riverside AKA one of the best and most beautiful places on earth. YESYEYSEYSYES!

REUNITED!

13156410893_ef20328329_o.png

We took that picture while sitting down in the lobby watching cartoons. Jess knew someone who she used to work with at Coronado who then moved to Riverside, so we chilled while they caught up!

When she was done, we discovered the River Roost Lounge was PACKED and we wouldn't be able to get a seat for Bob's next show. Luckily, he plays many times per night so we came up with a gameplan. We would just wander around Riverside, get some food, walk to French Quarter, get some food, walk back to Riverside, and see Bob! What a perfect plan.

First we looked around in the Riverside shop.

Best ornament ever?! I think so.

13156279025_d55f19194a_o.png

There was a huge amount of Halloween and Christmas merchandise out, and then a teeny tiny Thanksgiving display. I loved these pins!

13156278795_8d71c2467e_o.png

I found a pair of Pluto earrings for Jess, and she literally bought them and put them in her ears on the spot. I wish I had taken a photo, they are seriously some of the cutest earrings I have ever seen, just little studs of Pluto. I should have bought them for myself too!

At the register in the back, I spotted Duffy looking like he was ready to rock. And roll.

13156278385_bb7fb9e7da_o.png

I took a photo and the CM at the register goes, "Did you just take a picture of that?!" and laughed SO hard. Um, yeah dude! I was like, "This is something I'm gonna want to remember forever." I mean, duh. Who wouldn't?

Once we finished in there, we headed to the Riverside Mill Food Court because Jess wanted some Create Your Own Pasta. She got that and we sat down and caught up with Gina, who made me laugh so hard I couldn't breathe. This is impossible to explain cause it's an in joke, but basically this girl we knew was leaving really awkward and hilarious things on Gina's Facebook and I couldn't breathe.

From there we took a little walk to French Quarter! Being here and having Gina with us totally brought me back to the May trip. So magical!!! I love these resorts so much and I can't wait to stay here again. Just too perfect.

We went into the French Quarter's shop and did some pin trading. I love their pin board because Tiana is on it! Fabulous. They had Ichabod Crane trivia in the shop which was really cool.

14566952648_68644ffc9f_z.jpg

Gina was so excited... you may remember her obsession with the Ichabod pin from the last trip.

There was a musician in the lobby playing none other than the classic SWEET CAROLINE! Vine: https://vine.co/v/hjJA5gg2BQH

Now there's a party. That's like my family's JAM and I always get a bit emotional when I randomly hear it. Such a legendary song.

Thanks to Gina taking a photo, I can tell you this musician was Tom Casey.

14751257334_aba9629539_z.jpg

You go Tom Casey!

Beignets were calling my name so we went into Sassagoula Floatworks next. Gina got a kid's grilled cheese and I just got the beignets, which I planned to split with her. It comes with three, so we said we'd each have one and split the last one. The CM making them overheard us and gave us a 4th beignet!! THANKS YOU'RE AWESOME!!!

13156277675_3aef14cc1d_o.png

After leaving the Food Court, we walked back to Riverside and obviously had a little Singin' In the Rain photoshoot.

13259560764_d222df740f_z.jpg

LOL

13281367474_726fcef7c2_z.jpg

We're just fabulous.

Back at Riverside we saw Tom!!! Tom the horse from our May trip, of course! Jess wasn't with us that night but said she had met Tom another time.

Luckily, at the River Roost Lounge we were able to get seats at the bar just before Bob went on. SCORE!!

13259208065_a74d833222_o.jpg

I was so excited and happy!! Bob is truly one of the most incredible, unique, and energetic performers I have EVER seen. Gina and I knew that after seeing him in May, we were gonna have to come back. Jess had never even seen him before in all her time there, so I was pumped for her to experience the magic of this guy too!

As you can see... HULA TIMON LOVES BOB!!! Who wouldn't?

13259208375_4bb4fb5ba0_o.jpg

I love that picture so much!

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, BOB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

13259168655_33b65751aa_o.png

13259317973_8f78693f25_o.png

Bob did the exact same show that we had seen before, but that was fine with us! We loved it! He actually does change it up quite a bit, but we just happened to be there on a night that was the same as a show we had previously seen. I'm happy that Jess got to see that one though, so many classic songs! She promptly fell in LOVE with Bob, of course. I don't know how anyone could come from seeing him and not be ridiculously happy.

13259530124_07c007d327_o.png

I took this right as we walked up to do the hand jive with Bob!!!!

13259207965_057821d47b_o.jpg

There was a hilarious moment during the show where all the guys were supposed to get on the ground. If you haven't seen Bob/read my prior report, this is a pretty interactive show. Everyone does what Bob says, it's like even shy people don't care and get sucked into his flawless act. I love it. Anyway, there was this one guy trying to get on the floor, but there were so many guys around him sprawled out that he had no room, so in a panicked way he just kind of turned back and forth a little threw his hands up in the air. We were LOSING IT completely.

At the end of the show, we were lucky enough to meet the legendary BOB!!! AGAIN!!! He was ready to give us more pictures and sign them, but we explained that we had already seen him in May and now had the photos hanging on our walls at home. He was so happy we came back!! I let him know that it was Jess's first time and he was like "Well come on up here then!!!" and asked for her name so that he could sign one for her. Oh Bob you're so nice.

13281584954_39e34fed96_z.jpg

Bob's famous photo wall! He takes photos with thousands of fans and posts them on his Facebook or prints them out for this wall.

13281233185_5f583f1065_z.jpg

Last time I saw Bob, we took a selfie together, so it was only right that we took another one! Thanks for being such a good sport Bob!!

13259207805_10e2893201_o.jpg

I love that man!

Group shots were necessary! Here's ours

13259199715_3a1f839a23_z.jpg

...and from Bob's Facebook

13259199915_ff39fb8929_z.jpg

Gah, I love that photo!! AND I LOVE BOB!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This was such a great night. Hanging with two of my bestest friends ever, jamming out to great music at Disney World. WHAT COULD BE BETTER?! And the best part was I got to do two more days of it coming up, but this time with HANSON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ahh, life was too good!!!

On the way back to Pop Century, another hilarious moment occurred. As you know, all of Hilary Duff's music was pretty much becoming the soundtrack of our trip. Of course, Gina is also a Hilary fan, so when we put on her songs it was a full on three-part harmony going on in Brooke.

We started to get into conversation about Hilary's life and how she is married with a baby now, and I think it was Gina who mentioned she didn't think her husband was very cute. I was like, "Well, it's not like she has good taste in guys. I mean, she dated Aaron Carter." Gina agreed, but Jess said, without a hint of irony, "What's wrong with Aaron Carter, is he like a goon or something?"

I.

Can't.

I cannot begin to describe the explosion of laughter that came out of Gina & I. GOON!!!!!!!!! I haven't heard someone use the word goon seriously in... I don't even know. Forever? It's just such a funny word to hear a person say. She said it in such a sincere way, like she was saying "Is he a jerk?" Oh man, I couldn't breathe. Oh Jess, I love you.

We filled her in that yes, Aaron Carter was a pretty big goon because he cheated on her with Lindsay Lohan. Ah, the drama of 2004!

Once we got back to the room, I tried on my new poncho... thing... for Gina. You see, the previous day I had seen this weird item of clothing at Cast Connection. The reason I bought it was that it had a hood with a Minnie Mouse bow on it. My friend had a hoodie with a Daisy bow on the hood from Tokyo Disneyland, and ever since I saw that, I wanted one just like it. The Minnie hood was even better, unfortunately it was attached to this awkward thing.

So I modeled it.

13259350143_5115146bf0_z.jpg

HAHAHAHAHAHA. I don't even know. I ended up returning that before I left because it was like $35 and I just had no idea when I would wear it.

More hilariousness followed. Gina had bought a couple of lanyards and a set of trading pins so that she could join in on all the pin trading fun. We decided that we would need to act out a pin trading scene so that Gina would be fully prepared to pin trade the next day. I played the Cast Member and Gina played Gina. We exaggerated our roles for dramatic effect. It was quite a show! I think Jess enjoyed it... at least, she applauded pretty loud!

We ate a bunch of MNSSHP candy, talked for a long time, and passed out. Another jam packed Disney day was ahead of us!

Wow great updates! you would be so much fun to be around with in Disney, you have such a wonderful time:woohoo:

Haha I have to correct you on one thing Lia. When it's raining (or sunny for that matter), I'm fully ok with people staying away. They're stupid to do it, but I'm completely ok with it, lol

NO DANCING PIN!!!! I have very few pins, but I finally got that one which was really the main one I always wanted. So exciting!

Honestly Lia, reading about your trips sure does make it so hard live up to the fun you always have. But by God I try!!! I figure just take your TR's as a template and insert yourself into it and you'll have the best trip ever.
