LGMH at Home Depot... NO MORE!

LGMH are no longer available at Home Depot!
I went there today, to get one for my sister, and the lady told me they no longer are making them!

This is a Bummer! I wonder if some other store, like Lowes will? Or is this true??

Someone about 2 years ago posted a LGMH pattern that I saved. I've been printing my own for a while now. It is just easier anyway, and I can add my screen name in Waltograph font on one side and the Disboards logo on the other. I just open the pattern in Photoshop. I tried to search for that thread and I just can't find it. Maybe someone else knows where it is.

No, Lowes doesn't sell that Behr paint. And I think it's Behr that made the paint chips (since they make the Disney paint).

I have a couple of newbie questions for everyone. Do you only wear your LGMH's in the parks? I ask because we don't have a trip yet but I think it might be fun to find Disser's whereever I go.

And do you carry plain LGMH's with you to give to Dissers or those who would like to be when they meet you? Hope that makes sense, lol.

BTW, I love this idea. This is my first time reading about LGMH's. Is there a thread where I can read about its history?

I have one that I put on our backpack that either my DH or I carry (we trade off) and I have some that I can leave if I see any other DISer...last year I didn't see any DISers so I wasn't able to give any. Hopefully, I may see a few when we go in Dec 2013.

I don't know of a specific thread about the history but I know it used to be that Disers would wear lime green shirts in the park to identify each other. But then that color became too popular so they switched to the Mickey Heads. At least that was how it was explained to me.

I've been wearing a LGMH to the parks since 2009 and this past July was the first time I ever saw another Diser in the parks. He was from the WDW side of the boards and was right in front of us in the FP line for RSR. He had a LGMH on his backpack. So we had a nice chat as we waited. I always wear mine on my purse and so far, no one had said anything about it except for CMs who thought it was cute. So I don't bring any to hand out. I just keep my eyes open for them.

Back in 2001 or so there was a thread on the Community Board where people talked about meeting each other in the parks. It was suggested that we all pick a color to wear in the park so we could identify each other. Someone suggested that we all have ribbons of a certain color.

So a poll was put up on the CB with the different colors put on there and we all voted. Lime green came out on top. If I remember correctly, orange was second.

Not too long after that, someone reported that they had seen Mickey paint chips at Home Depot and they had used those. Well, once pictures were posted everyone wanted to do something similar, and from there it grew. People also decided that the correct Mickety paint chip taken from Home Depot should be the "alien green" Mickey.

It always tickles me that the person who created the DIS, Pete Werner, hates lime green.

I'm glad it changed from shirts to the LGMH. I can't pull off a lime green shirt.

Thank you for the history of the LGMH. How great that just the perfect Disney color showed up at Home Depot. Poor Pete; wonder if he was hoping ornage would win.
