We just bought an LG 42" HDTV (model 42LH30). We are attempting to fine tune the picture. If you have this model can you tell me the settings you use? TIA

If you're looking for the best picture, you need to have someone come in and calibrate it. This route will run $300 - $400.
If you're happy with "good enough", there are some user calibration tools out there. The first is a DVD/BluRay you can buy (Amazon.com - http://www.amazon.com/Digital-Video...ef=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1266949472&sr=8-1 or http://www.amazon.com/Monster-ISF-H...3?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1266949472&sr=8-3). Avoid buying these used unless you know for sure it will include the filters (pointless purchase if you don't buy the filters). This route will take some effort and some of the steps can be confusing to new users, so its wise to have Google up and running to search for answers/questions. The second is a website (http://www.tweaktv.com/tweak-my-tv/) that gives some general guidelines based on TV model, but since there are variations in each set, it may not give great results (note: I have never used this service before, so I cannot comment).
