As far as room assignments, possible free upgrades, etc. Do you think there are different "classes" of guests? For example, if I book room only and not a package will I have less clout? If I book through Expedia.com or another travel site, will I have even less clout?

Once you arrive, you are a guest like everyone else at your resort no matter what type of reservation you have.:goodvibes

If you were to be treated differently based on how you booked your vacation or if you have room only vs. a package, something would be wrong with customer service. I wouldn't worry. Book the best deal you can find. You are a guest once you get to WDW!

I booked a standard room (room only) through Travelocity for our April trip, and received a complimentary upgrade to a beautiful courtyard view!! They didn't even tell me about it at check-in. I found out when I stepped out onto the balcony and saw the gorgeous view!

Not sure I understand what you mean by 'clout'? Could you explain further?

Also not sure why Disney would care how you booked your reservation. They get your money, regardless.

Whether you get a package or not, you still have to buy park tickets.

Whether you get the dining plan or not, you're still paying for food.

Discriminating based on how or what you booked would be phenomenally stupid, from a business perspective. The person who stays on a discounted rate this time, if they have an enjoyable trip, may well book concierge at GF next time.

I book everything separately and have always been treated well. I would hope everyone is treated the same no matter how the trip was booked. We are all paying customers:cutie:

Way back, before I knew any better, I booked a WDW package through a regular travel agent. I have now, for the most part, booked my own trips, room only, unless a deal that is just too good to pass up comes along(like the FairyTale package back in '03...pay for 4 nights, get 3 free), and booked through DU when I haven't been able to be online to get those great AP rates.
Have I had any difference in 'treatment'? No, not one iota.
Now I own DVC but still book other rooms on occasion. It will be a cold day in you know where when Disney starts catagorizing people by how they book. They don't even treat you diffently at the different levels of resorts. I've had the exact same service at POP as I have had at the Polynesian or BC...no difference at all.

As for 'clout' I'm not sure what you mean. What kind of 'clout' would you need, or want, at WDW?

At the bottom of your signature you have the Boardwalk resort pic.

Where can I get one, I love them and see alot of members have them but of different resorts.

Thanks!

I have always booked room only-always going through CRO, and have stayed at deluxe, mods and once at a value. The treatment was always the same, I was a paying guest and the service and CM attitudes were the same at all levels.

I agree with another poster, Disney gets your money, they don';t care how they get it, just that they do get it. Plus happy guests mean repeat guests!

I'm proof it doesn't matter! Whether I book with an AP discount, or pay full rack rate, I usually wind up in a room in the farthest corner of the farthest building near no food court, bus stop, or pool! Don't worry - I'm so used to it now! :teeth: Nothing I do seems to make any difference!

1) The ressie has information on the booking
. . . how it was booked (convention, group, etc)
. . . who booked it (WDTC, TA, etc)
2) However, Front Desk, Back Room, or Concierge CM's seldom look at this.
3) There are not "classes" of people.
4) Even Club Level guests don't get that much more favored treatment.

NOTE: There are exceptions for true celebs or VIP's. There are three classes of VIP's, and only the true celebs get special treatment. Concierge (Club Level) may get extra perks for staying Club Level, but they don't get special "class" treatment.

Yes and no. Returning CL guests do seem to get the best rooms and upgrades as far as the CL is concerned.

Also we've found that if we had the code that indicated we were CL guests on our ADR's, we often got the best tables in the restaurants. Cooincidence? Possibly, but rather doubtful when I take into account how often it happened while staying CL as opposed to DVC where I made my own ADR's.
