lets talk vinager

Great for getting rid of odors in the kitchen like fried onion or fish burnt popcorn. Pour some in a bowl and let it sit over night.

Once a month I pour baking soda and vinegar down all of my drains followed by a big pot of boiling water. And I do this especially after a big family meal like at Thanksgiving. To keep those pipes clean.

I little vinegar and baking soda on a rag and used on the lens of your headlights gets rid of that dull grimy build up.

I use it to clean my windows
Shine my faucets and leaves no water marks.

Use the apple cider vinager to gargle with it when I have a sore throat. Kills all those germs in the throat

If you have a "ring" around the bottom of your water faucet....soak a paper towel in vinegar and wrap it around the faucet, wait an hour and remove. The ring will be gone :).

Wow! These are great tips. The things I've used vinegar for have already been mentioned; things like the coffee coffee maker and as a fabric softener, but I'm sure going to try some of the other tips. Vinegar is sooooo much cheaper than some of the cleaning stuff I buy.

Gross but effective...

Apple cider vinegar can be used as a wart remover. Just soak a small piece of cotton ball in vinegar and secure over the wart with a bandaid. Leave on overnight, every night. In a week or so, no more wart. I tried it once with one on my finger - only took a couple of days and much cheaper than those DIY wart remover kits from the pharmacy.

Do you put vinegar into the pressurized steam chamber instead of water? Do you dilute it with water or just use straight (scented) vinegar?

I make orange vinegar by dropping my orange peels into a jar of vinegar. After a couple of weeks, I strain it into my spray bottle to use for cleaning. My DH can't stand the smell of straight vinegar, but after I used the orange vinegar in my steam mop, he came into the house and said, "Smells good in here - what is it?" I also keep the Dawn/vinegar mix in the shower and run it around before I shower, then rinse it off. No hard water buildup in there on our glass doors, and believe me, we are the hard water capital of the state!

I use a apple cider vinegar rinse in my hair once or twice a week. It removes the scummy build up on my hair that causes it to tangle and look dirty. If you rinse it out long enough you won't smell it once your hair dries.

I also add it to a scrub I use on my body once a week.

1-2 scoops of coffee (course grains that slough off dead skin;caffeine to improve circulation and minimize cellulite)
1 spoonful of honey (antibacterial and a humectant)
1 cap full of vinegar (ph balances the skin)

Its great for dry skin and body acne
