For those of you who drive 10 or more hours at a time to wdw, what vehicle do you drive? Is it comfortable? Does it have enough room for bags?

We drove a 2005 4runner on our 15 hour drive in December. It was ok but not super comfy for the driver or passenger. The seats are pretty thin. The kids were in carseats with decent leg room but nothing great. Cargo area was adequate but again nothing to write home about.

I have made the 16+ hour drive in many vehicles, the most recent a 2010 LaCrosse. Very comfortalble. However, no matter what vehicle you use, fatigue and discomfort will set in after a while. I need to stretch my legs after about 4-5 hours of driving. I usually fuel up both myself and the car. When my DD was young, I use a van.

Our last few trips we drove a 2003 Montana. We put as much as possible on the roof, every person gets a personalized bed pillow and a beach towel (to stay warm so I can stay cool and not drowsy), ear buds so I don't have to hear 4+ different games/music, and a cooler with whatever you want. I also make sure there are plenty of bags/containers for trash, wet wipes and air freshner.

We made several trips in a Dodge Grand Caravan and it was pretty comfortable...but the Ford Edge that we drove on our last trip was extremely comfortable! As for room, the Grand Caravan had plenty of room since it is a little longer than a regular minivan and had the stow and go compartments underneath. The Edge didn't have as much room but we had 4 regular suitcases plus one smaller one, two smaller (carry on sized) bags and the kid's pillows, blankets and activity bags. I think we had a couple of snack bags back there too! So really...more than enough fit in the Edge. It is the only car that we have ever driven long distance that my husband's neck did not get stiff. :goodvibes

We have a Chevy Traverse. Put 4200 miles on it this past summer driving 2 weeks. Minnesota, Black Hills, Park City-UT, Las Vegas, Grand Canyon, Albuquerque, Denver, Omaha, and back to MN...... I drove all 4200 miles of the trip... it is a joy to drive and comfortable for all!

Our ODY rides like a dream. Before that we drove our Sienna, which gives a smooth ride but I like the seats of the ODY much better. It is also bigger. Have driven the ODY 2400 miles to WDW every Christmas since 2005 and it still rides like new!:goodvibes

I like everyone to have their space, no bags in the cabin, we take blankets and pillows, XM radio, DVD, Nav, and it is great on gas. We avg. 400 miles to a tank which means 3 fill ups will get us WDW.

The dog rides in his kennel in the cargo and we still had room for our boxed tree, luggage and food for 2 weeks.

2004 Toyota Sienna for our 15-hour (give or take) drive from Ohio. It's very comfortable for the four of us.

We have a Dodge Caravan and 6 people. I do pack reasonable and we have a stroller which goes in the roof topper. Each kid is allowed one bookbag plus a blanket and a pillow. We found a great storage system (it was meant for this but it works-it was meant for a locker) and it helps keep us clean and organizes.
