Does anyone own a treadmill that they use for exercise and not just to hang things on?:lmao:

I have owned and sold just about every other piece of exercise equipment out there, and now I am thinking about a treadmill. I was thinking about a Ab Lounge, but not too many people speak highly of that, so now I'm thinking treadmill.:yay:

If you own one and use it, what brand do you have and do you like it? What features do you wish it had? I don't want to spend a fortune on it but I want one that is motorized and will not fall apart in a week. princess:

QVC has a treadmill as the TSV today.

It may not be what you are looking for, but check it out online, just for the presentation... it will give you an idea of what you are looking for.

Thanks, I will check that one out. Just in the beginning stages of researching treadmills.:rotfl:

Bought a used treadmill from Craiglist for $100. It's a Proform. Have used it about 4 times a week since purchasing it in June.

We have a treadmill we bought it from sears. I walk 4 to 5 times a week on it. The thing with any type of excercise equip is that motivation is key it can be a great piece of equipment but if the motivation isn't there it doesn't matter (I am not getting on my high horse because I am one who hase totally lost motivation on many occassions  ). Tread mills are great if you can also find something to entertain you while on it. I compare our treasmill to be like a gerbil on a wheel. My Ipod saves me I listen to DisUnplugged while I am on it, I am finding that I am having to branch out to other podcasts too now just because I run out of Dis before I run out of days on the treadmill.. I say that if you have the motivation and a way to stay motivated a treadmill is a great thing!

I also have a Sears for 10 years or more now. I never had to replace pad or anything. It was the low end model maybe $399 from $499.
some times months go by and we don't use it, then dust off and the miles get going....

It is funny when we put it on low speed and the cats want to walk it.

Oh, a heads up; with small kids and the key, make sure it is out of reach. there have been alerts about young one playing on them after getting in the key and the tread dops them off sometimes pinning between a wall or item with the rotating tread pad burning off the skin and long term huge damage.

We bought a NordicTrack tm (from Sears) 7 years ago and it has been great. We've put a lot of miles on it - both walking and running - training for 2 Breast Cancer 3-Days, walking through 2 pregnancies, and just trying to stay active. It wasn't cheap, but I'd consider it well worth the investment.

I bought a NordicTrack treadmill from Sears two years ago, and it is the ONLY piece of exercise equipment I've ever owned that I actually use. I run 2-3 miles 3-4 times a week on it. I like that it feels very stable when I run, and the feature I could not live without is the built-in fan.

I have a Nordic Track Commercial that I bought from Costco, it's very durable, I run on inclines every day and it has really held up well ! I had a proform before and it couldn't handle heavier workouts and burnt out within a year

Mine also has speakers and I can plug my ipod into it, I love it !! you need music to get you moving

We own a Horizon treadmill which we bought from a fitness store about 5 years ago. Still works great, no issues. I use it 3-4 times a week.

I previously bought a cheaper treadmill from Sears which broke within 1-2 yrs. I recommend you try whatever you are purchasing.

I had no idea the difference in treadmills until I went into a fitness store and they explained the different size motors, etc.

Good luck!

OP here. The one on QVC is a Reebok 2.75 HP Treadmill. Does anyone know anything about them? I didn't even know Reebok made exercise equipment! I always just associate them with sneakers. Guess I'll have to do some more research. Believe it or not, I've never bought anything off QVC!:surfweb: Do they normally carry high quality items? princess:

This, to me, is absolutely the best website for reviews of ellipticals and treadmills.

Treadmill Doctor

Excellent site. We used to have a Proform, replaced it with a Sole. Much better treadmill. If you are heavy, check out the weight limits on the treadmill carefully. Also if you plan to run on it, you will need a more sturdy treadmill.
